Feeling a bit camera shy

Since their first days playing together at their local youth group events, the guys in Seventh Time Down have always felt the stage was their destination. They just didn’t expect what happens off the stage to be the most important part of their music.

"I believe there is more to changing lives than a Seventh Time Down show. The most important parts are the relationships we build with kids both on and off stage, and our personal stories of redemption, love, and hope that we share with them. That is what will make us world changers!".... Mikey 7TD

While the current edition of Seventh Time Down has only been performing together for about a year, Mikey, Cliff, Eric, and Austin have been playing music together in various capacities since their middle school days.

It is that closeness that translates into the lyrics and performance of their music. Most of the songs have obvious meanings to their growing fanbase, but it is the shared stories and experiences behind those songs that bring out the passion and the purpose for Seventh Time Down’s members.

The name of the band was derived from II Kings 5, where an army commander with leprosy asked God’s prophet to heal him. When he was told to go dip in the Jordan River seven times, Naaman initially refused to follow such foolish commands. But he later submitted to the idea, and the Bible says that after his seventh time down, he came up as a clean man. It is that driving message of obedience that has resulted in Seventh Time Down’s decision to follow God into this music ministry.

From the driving anthem “Shine” to the peace-inducing melody of their tune “Take Me Away”, Seventh Time Down weaves in and out of the youth room they grew up in to the world they now live in. It is that connection that has these four boyhood friends from Kentucky turning the heads of the music industry. But these guys are more concerned with turning the hearts of today’s generation.

Recently touring on ShoutFest, Seventh Time Down has gained great exposure throughout the country. The next leg of touring begins in March 2006 for the guys as they begin a 26 date tour currently under planning for the northeastern states as well as Canada.
