"Adrenalin Metal Union Webzine album review"

Mike's Review This is another one of those bands that I was able to check out live before hearing their album. Excellent performance and stage presence. This CD captures a lot of their in-your-face ball0busting energy. The Carcass-like vocals and their lower growling blend together well and fits smoothly with the music. The first couple songs seem to mush together a bit much but soon after you start to get a feel for the death thrash sound that makes Seven Year Existence stand out. Each song has more than enough muscle and originality to carry you to the next track and beyond. I would definitely like to check these guys out live again. It takes a good band like this to form a decent mosh pit. Check them out. www.myspace.com/sevenyearexistence

"Seven Year Existence - 5-song EP"

4/5

Reviewer: Ramiro Vazquez

Seven Year Existence operates in the gray area between speed metal, metalcore, and death metal. The five songs on the self-titled EP are for the most part fast, furious, and to the point. Yeah, the first song “Paradim” does have a mandatory album-opening melodic intro and the last song does have an extensive predictable “breakdown,” but at least they don’t overdo it with the metalcore clichés like so many of their peers. Also, there are no clean whiney vocals anywhere to be found. The singing style is more along the lines of a high-pitched bark/screech in the vein of Lamb of God and Devildriver, as opposed to a deep, death metal growl or the whine/screech/rinse/repeat formula many bands follow. Seven Year Existence is far from reinventing the wheel on this CD, but they do what they do very well and that should count for something. Find them at www.myspace.com/sevenyearexistence.
