Biography

Seven Years To Burn is a metal/hardcore four-piece from Houston, Texas. Formed in November 2006, the band is made up of founding members Paul Sanchez (vocals) and Alex Garza (guitar), who are joined by Sergio Fernandez (bass) and Carlos Ortiz (drums).

Drawing influence from some of metal’s heavyweights the like of Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying and Avenged Sevenfold, Seven Years to Burn has turned more than a few heads on the back of countless shows in the Houston area, opening slots for national bands The Red Chord, My Children My Bride and Chelsea Grin, as well as a performance at the Slave To The Metal Tour, where they suitably impressed host Mistress Juliya (Fuse TV), who said “Seven Years to Burn Rocks!”

In February 2009 (when Paul and Alex were just 17 years old), the band recorded their debut album “Tribulation”. Released originally through Black Eye Media, “Tribulation” is currently available on iTunes.

The sheer depth and determination of Seven Years to Burn is described by Paul Sanchez: “This isn’t just some band writing songs and screaming over them, it’s so much more. The drive and passion is nothing I’ve ever experienced before in my life, and what makes this so much more unbelievable is that I’m doing this with my best friends.”

And it seems that 2011 is shaping up to be a very good year for Seven Years to Burn, who in addition to working on their new album “Arcadia” at Aryln Studios, Austin, have recently hooked up with Damon Moreno of prestigious iLA Artist Development and Management Company, The Inner Light Agency.

These are exciting times, and people should keep their eyes and ears open for Seven Years to Burn
