"Music scene today is boring." "Then why don't we create somthing else?" In 2006, Rika

Arahari(vo) and Taku Ogawa(key) started the band with the concept "Creating cool but passionate

music with the essence of Rock and Jazz."
To create the new style of music that no one has ever heard, they gathered the members of different

musical background, such as classical, jazz, rock, punk, and rockabilly.

As we have worked for three years, we have opened our music to the public through MySpace, Last FM, YouTube, and other medias. And we found that our music is evaluated highly from the listeners in overseas more than the listeners of Japanese Pops here in Japan. Therefore, we started to find the way to perform overseas.

Last October, we entered GBOB (Global Battle Of Bands). The first place winner of this contest could get a ticket to perform in London, but the thing can't go that easy. We won the second place, and we were so dissapointed with the result. However, it wasn't the only way to perform abroad. There must be other ways to reach our goal.

That is why we applied for SXSW. This is the great opportunity, because in order to spread out our music, we think it is very important to perform at the world-wide well known showcase. The other action we took is that we released our 2nd album "Hermit Mission" through the company "CDbaby" in Olegon. Now our album is successfully distributed to many countries. Recently a radio station in Portugal made an offer to broadcast our music on air. We think that it is the time for SexRex to take actions not only in these small islands of far east, but also in many countries. We are eager to show our spirits at SXSW!! Please let us play at Japan Nite!!
