"Live Show Review"

( I ) absorbed the anticipation of the standing room only crowd. When Brendan Bane and company ripped into the set, the transformation from local nobodies to one of Toronto’s foremost independent acts could only be missed if you were deaf, dumb and blind…

…pyrotechnics, dancing, go-go girls, and a grand entrance with Bane… perched up on a table in the middle of the venue, with arms outstretched… SWS were hell-bent on massaging all the senses…

(They) were received by the audience like parents welcoming home their do-good children.

… the two encores demanded of SWS will serve as a warning not to underestimate this unit as a mere blip on the local scene.

"R.I.P Review"

…extremely good songs…of course this is a thinking man’s band – no teen trash here…

What really kills me is (Bane’s) voice…it’s an absolute monster…not only can this man growl, but he can sing too.

…this band is both lyrically and musically diverse. These fellas twist things around very nicely with a couple of really strange and hilarious segments as well.

"Demo EP Review"

...get a tape of a new band…if it belongs to Sex Without Souls, you will love it.

…they are diverse, intelligent and talented…(Brendan) Bane specializes in bringing demons out of the closet and into our lives for scrutiny. But he does it with a wonderful mixture of cynicism and humour.

Bio

Toronto Canada’s most tweaked group of lunatics Sex Without Souls’ mix of hard rock, humour and intense stage presence can always be counted on to deliver. In the past they’ve turned stages into castles, butchered the Nutcracker Suite, breathed fire, burlesqued, undressed, and distressed.

Named by a thirteen year old Boy Scout in the Black Forest of Germany, Sex Without Souls’ powerful rock with a dark twist, intelligent lyrics, outlandish stage performance and undeniable star power is the musical bomb exploding over the Toronto Club Scene.

The explosion that bears their name was launched with an 8 song DEMO EP, followed by a series of wild and popular gigs that took Toronto audiences by storm. 2001 saw the release of their full length CD “R.I.P.”, an album that solidified their place in the hearts of an ever growing fan base and put Sex Without Souls on the music industry radar. Front man Brendan “Bane specializes in bringing demons out of the closet and into our lives for scrutiny”. Michelle Greene, The Newspaper.

“Our live shows engage and excite the audience. It is our job to entertain and alter people’s moods. Even though we have a flair for the dramatic, we keep ourselves real - not cool. Call it high art that is consumable.” Brendan Bane (Lead VOX)

Sex Without Souls has been driving their career in classic DIY style. Tired of being Toronto’s best kept secret, Sex Without Souls has ripped from their own souls the greatly anticipated release “Unrepentant”, with the commitment to infect legions across unexplored territories.

With management currently in the UK breaking new ground, a stage show that takes no prisoners, and the drive and talent to make it all happen; Sex Without Souls will not be overlooked!!

...one of Toronto’s foremost independent acts.
