Bio

Forged in the snow by the mighty rock giants from the heart of Ontario’s northland, these monsters of form and function have been delivered to blow the ears off anyone who is foolhardy enough to lend them.
Black Mountains, Death Valley by Seymour reminds one, both musically and lyrically, of the off kilter stylings of Captain Beefheart and Les Claypool (Not to mention the frenetic riffs bringing back the chaos of Lemmy era Hawkwind and early Motorhead). Half title track Black Mountains is a non-stop punk track, perhaps due in part to Minor Threat, culminating in their most Beefheart-esque break where guitarist/slash vocalist John Forbes grunts “when it comes to pass, how you gunna come, with a bullet in your gun, a black mountain in the sun?”
Other comparisons can be made with the song Freeze, where Seymour sounds more reminiscent of the “Lonesome Crowded West” type of Modest Mouse.
With a stage presence similar to Pavement (including multi-thingist Jason Mcfarlane handling mainly trumpet duties as well as costumes, crowd surfing, lots of singing and dancing as well as the occasional guitar accompaniment) Seymour packs a powerful and unique punch.
Now hailing from Toronto and various rural locations Seymour opted to record with upstart DIY label Out of Sound Records based out of Guelph, Ontario... A user friendly and highly Can-rock collective who have been linked to the likes of Wintersleep, Elevator, Great Lake Swimmers, By Divine Right, Hotkid, Tacoma Hellfarm Tragedy, Shotgun Jimmie, Baby Eagle, Jim Guthrie and a slew of other great Canadian Do-It-Yourselfers. With a uniquely homemade album and a high quality Digital DIY package available exclusively to Zunior.com that comes with a full-size printable poster on the way, Seymour are on the fast track to Independent glory if they do say so themselves
