Bio
Abate Berihun was born in Addis-Ababa Ethiopia and been an active musician, playing with top groups in his country and touring with them throughout the world.
After years of dreaming about Israel and Jerusalem, he immigrated to Israel at the age of 32 and got involved in the local music scene. His gathering with Alon Yoffe, well known Drummer and music producer led to a few exciting projects, current and most exciting one is Shabate.
The group joined forces with keyboardist David Adda, percussionist Yarom Ita and jazz bassist Asaf Hakimi, and together they created Shabate.
Shabate is An extraordinary musical gathering of 3 Orthodox Jews, together with Berihun and with Bassist Assaf Hakimi, result an ecstatic Jewish roots music experience.
