Recently, I have being saying that if I ever made it in the music industry. My first recording album would have to be called, ''How did I get here?" just because that same very question has been heavy on my mind every since I knew that I wanted to be a professional musician. Growing up, I was no stranger to the stage, and singing in front of numerous people. Since I was child, singing had always been second nature to me, and thats all I ever did was sing. I even once told my mother that I wanted to be a gospel singer, and ofcourse she smiled said "okay baby" and that was end of it. Literally, that was end of it! As I grew older up into my teens, I lost that desire a little bit, and ever doing music turned into something that was just a hobby, as oppose to a career goal. Until 2009, I finally got my heartbroke, and other incidents that followed. And for some reason, other than God I turned to singing again and it lifted me back up in the most amazing way. Now, all I can think about is music. I feel like that little girl again, who's passion for music was so graciously restored. I am really happy that I am here again..lol
I have used certain artist like Jill Scott, Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Aerosmith, Nirvana, Paramore, Tracey Chapman, Lykke Li, and many more. To draw inspiration on my music and the gift of songwriting. This helps me to be diverse, just by being myself. I love wierd acoustic sounds, groovy music, with soul to inspire other individuals that may be going through, or have went through some really serious obstacles before. Emotion, and meanings of a song is the type of songwriter that I am, and love artist who base their career on always thinking outside the box.
I credit live performance, as great way to express my artistic viewpoints. Its the best feeling in the world for me because any material that I have worked on just with myself, and then to share with others, and get a wonderful reaction is priceless for me. I love it!
I just want to do music, and hope that someone listening can be benefit from it.
