Bio

Young, fly, flashy, and about to takeover, these are some of the
things you may hear on the street about newcomer, SHAD B. The R&B
sensation has been buzzing around the Atlanta underground scene for
almost two years and now he's making his move on the industry. His
style has been labeled by many to be cutting edge. With a voice as
smooth as silk, he rides the beat like a seasoned professional. Not
only does he have the ability to sing his way into your everyday playlist on your ipod, but his writing skills are impeccable. He wins the
hearts of the ladies with his catchy melodies and appeals to the guys
with street savvy anthems. SHAD B. Has written 100% of his material
including songs like ''The Perfect Girl'' and ''Don't Look My Way''.
His tell it like is attitude is a style he entitles to be STREET BOY
FRESH, making his music very easy to relate to.

His story doesn't resemble many who say they grew up singing in the
church choir. SHAD B. ( bka Rashad Boatwright) picked up the mic for
the first time at the age of 17.
"I have loved music my whole life. One day I was fooling around and I
started singing an old Jodeci song, I think it was "Stay". I surprised
myself because it actually sounded good and that's how it started".

Being an army brat, he has seen alot of different places, people, and
cultures. His experiences has made him into a well rounded person. He
could never quite shake his Southern upbringing though and it
definitely shows in his music.

" While growing up I was inspired groups like Jodeci, 112, and Dru
Hill. The turning point in my life came when I was listening
to Jagged Edge for the first time. They are the group that really
inspired me to become a songwriter".

Music became a steady diet for this young entertainer. SHAD B. made a
final decision that music was his calling while attending Clark
Atlanta University. He majored in Mass Media Arts working often as a
camera man and an editor. His professors realized his potential as an
on screen talent and suggested he switch position. He even hosted a
video show on campus. The college scene was just the thing he needed
to practice his craft. Soon after arriving at Clark ATlanta University
he joined an R&B group named Premiere. Shad stood out as a leader
coordinating shows and getting the music together. Through years of
struggling back and for with different members and different setbacks
with the group, Shad B. Decided to part ways and do his own thing.

"At first I was mad at myself for quitting but weren't going anywhere.
We were great but everybody wasn't on the same page. So I had to find
my nitch to make me stand out. That when I just decided to be myself.
Thus came the style STREET BOY FRESH. No disrepspect but I'm not 140
lbs like alot of these singers out and I don't consider myself to be a
pretty boy. That works for them but not for me. I'm just SHAD B. I'm
slightly rougher around the edges."

He immediately started recieving attention. This opportunity lead to
numerous shows and openings for headlining act like T.I., Ludacris,
Jagged Edge, 112, and The Ying Yang Twins just to name a few. SHAD B.
was getting his name out and building a fan base, but it wasn't taking
him to that next level that he needed to be at. With the help of a
friend from school, he was introduced to the Hittmenn DJ's. This would
be his door to many connections. The Hittmenn DJ's is an elite group
of DJ's headed by super DJ of the Southeast, CEO Greg Street. Through
their promotion and marketing SHAD B. has several labels interested in
signing him. SHAD B. is just getting started and only plans to get
better. It's only a matter of time before SHAD B. is a household name
known across the globe. His music speaks for itself and there is no
stopping a true artist. He is ready to show the music industry that
Atlanta isn't finished churning out talent!
