Bio
With a name taken from T.S. Eliot's poetry, an aesthetic informed by Neil Gaiman's Sandman universe, and music that's equal parts Robert Schumann and Joy Division, Shade Without Colour crafts a rather eccentric breed of Gothic pop music.
After years on the fringes of Philadelphia's music scene as a member of various noise rock/experimental acts, Alex Fraser came together with writer/visual artist Jemmy Murphy in late 2008 to create a project that would draw together the whole of both their wide arrays of disparate influences and experiences -- alternative, experimental, classical, literary, and visual -- into something dark and melodic, cathartic and haunting, beautiful and disturbing.
The first EP, Thin Black Cracks, was completed in early 2009; live shows are anticipated soon after.
