Discography

Frank produced two albums in the past two years, listed on CD-Baby, I-Tunes, Amazon, and other on-line stores, "Standing At the Crossroads", this album contains songs he first wrote at the young age of 17, all the way up to the present, and most significantly it reveals a new sound for Frank, as he moves away from the Nashville beat of his first album and creates a unique rhythm all of his own. Secondly, "Exposing the Heart", an album of love songs, written from the heart, released in time for Valentine's Day 2010.

In the fall of 2010 Frank finished an album at Tanglewood Studios nestled deep in a beautiful setting near Folsom Lake with the help of owner, this album is a mixture of old and new favorites of Frank's done acoustic and called "Unplugged and Original".

Most recently is a collection of 16 songs played live at the Rio Linda Farmer's Market and concert in the park at Depot Park, comprised of the all the crowd's favorites from over a summer of 16 shows, "Shadow Mountain Express Band Live in Rio Linda".

Bio

FRANK WM. LINK
FRANK WM. LINK and the
SHADOW MOUNTAIN EXPRESS BAND

Singer, songwriter, performer, Frank Wm. Link, has been chasing a dream most of his life, he lives to share his music with the world. Frank writes from the heart and brings those emotions across through his songs. Frank’s genre is a unique combination, it has been described as a mix of Americana, country alternative, blues, rockabilly, easy listening and southern rock. Frank likes to call it a mud-swamp sound from down south. His voice and style has been compared to Kris Kristofferson, Jimmy Buffett, Waylon Jennings, Alan Jackson and the band has been compared to Credence Clearwater Revival, Santana and others depending on the song.

Never losing touch with music while taking time out to raise a family and be on the road as a semi truck long haul driver, Frank took advantage of those years to write his songs and music, in fact he has written a binder full, created from life’s experiences and feelings over time. Also, as being a truck driver Frank found opportunities to perform over the years at various truck stops, and when home he sometimes entertained for charity events, it was a way of keeping his love for singing, playing and performing part of his life. Over the years Frank has won several song writing competitions in Nashville, he also wrote a DJ’s jingle for a KY radio station, still being played today. Not so long ago he performed in Nashville, TN at the well-known Douglas Corner Café, which ended with a standing ovation from the audience and a contract for his first album, “How Long Has It Been”. It was then that Frank felt his dream burn even deeper into his soul and he decided to trade in his everyday work life as a long haul truck drive and make the best of the years he has left doing what he truly loves, what he believes is his purpose in life, getting his songs heard and out there for others to enjoy, and now at age 59 that is exactly what he is doing.

Since relocating to CA, he put together his band called Shadow Mountain Express; either as a solo act or with the band, he has performed at various Northern CA venues: Vega’s Nightclub in Old Sacramento, MARR’S second Saturday downtown Sacramento, Bocas Restaurant & Lounge, Elkhorn Station in Woodland, Roseville’s Border’s Books and Music, West Coast Songwriter events in the Sacramento and bay areas, as well as private parties. In 2010 Shadow Mountain Express Band was in the line up to open for Loverboy at a northern CA gulf coast benefit concert. You can hear Frank’s recordings daily on www.IMRADIO.com, a large international, internet radio station. Frank recently performed all 5 days at the Dixon May Fair in northern CA. (Don’t miss him next year at the Dixon May Fair 2012). Shadow Mountain Express is the official band for the Rio Linda Farmer’s Market & Peddler’s Fair, June thru October, playing classic rock covers to originals, every Thursday, from 5-8 pm, Rio Linda Depot Park and their following just keeps growing.

In the past two years since living in California Frank has produced two albums, the first being “I’m Standing At the Crossroads”. This album contains songs he first wrote at the young age of 17, all the way up to the present, and most significantly it reveals a new sound for Frank, as he moves away from the Nashville beat of his first album and creates a unique rhythm all of his own. Secondly, released last Valentine’s Day is “Exposing the Heart”, love songs written from the soul - these are enjoyable heartfelt songs to enjoy with or without someone, they are just good easy listening tunes. Both albums are available on I-Tunes, CD Baby, and Amazon on-line stores. Recently out is Frank and the band’s “Live” from The Dixon May Fair 2011), an absolute awesome collection of Frank’s top 15 tunes performed live, and his latest CD is now available wherever he is performing, “Live” from Rio Linda Depot Park, a collection of 16 songs that his Rio Linda audience knows all so well.

Either as a duo or a band, Frank stays busy promoting his music and the band in Sacramento and greater surrounding areas every chance he gets. He never gives up on his dream to share his songs and music.
