Bio

Shadows music and lyrics are inspired by their own personal stories of growing up, facing hard times, and overcoming poverty and struggle to create a positive image of young Indigenous Australian men. Caper, Big D and Johnny G have been rapping and producing Hip Hop individually for over ten years, and have been performing and recording collectively as Shadows for close to two years.

Their self titled debut EP was released in 2006, and has been receiving airplay throughout Australia, having been consistently featured on Nova 91.9 FM’s Sunday night ‘Home Brew’ section, which features local SA Artists, with Nova playing ‘Destiny’ from Shadow’s 2006 debut E.P.

With anticipation building before the release of their debut album ‘Reflections’, Magic 105.9 FM opened their phone lines on the 30th October 2007 to allow the first single off the Shadow’s album ‘Reflections’ to be voted into Australia’s Top Rated Top 20 tracks.

With their music gaining greater exposure, Shadows will soon be hitting television screens across Australia, as Multi Award Winning Film Maker "Shalom Almond Linde" is filming a Documentary called "Word Of Mouth" which follows Shadows from the early rehearsals of 2005, to their subsequent journey into the music industry.

As well as gaining airplay and attracting renowned Film Directors, Shadows have performed at local clubs and events around Adelaide and have developed a strong following on the regional SA music circuit. These shows have included the Flinders University O-Ball alongside The Herd and The Beat Smugglers, the Hip Hop Night at Rhino Room, The Gov (Hindmarsh) and Wodliparri, part of the Aboriginal SA Youth Showcase, to name a few.
