Is Urban Desi artist, Shad Star's name an indication of what he is to become? Well the 24 year old singer and song writer is starting off strong. He is working on his debut album with Rodney Jerkins, the man known for producing hits for Michael Jackson and the Pussycat Dolls. Industry folks are also beginning to call him a Desi Usher( comparing him to the American R&B sensation). So will his talent and image make Shad Star the next rising star? Check out his debut track, "From Above", below and tell us if you think Shad Star's got talent.

So do you think he has what it takes? BREATHE (2009)

SEXUAL (2008)
IF I (2006)

Shad Star is a male solo artist who can perform at intimate acoustic venues as well as arenas with a full band and dancers. He rocks his stage and audience with every song, boasting an emotionally charged and explosive urban pop set. His recording career began when he hit the club scene in 2005 after writing and recording Ghetto Queen. Juvenile Delinquent of Spoilt Rotten Entertainment remixed and released it; helping it to became a hugely popular song on the dance floor. It led to a club tour and a release on Club Anthems 2005 by Virgin Records, which brought it radio success. It receives airplay to date. A follow-up garage remix by Juvenile Delinquent was 'If I' featuring Demolition Man and Lequonte. Although its success did not reach anthem status like Ghetto Queen, it secured a fan base. Shad Star met producer, Harmony, of Darkchild in 2007, and together they created a sound that produced multifaceted single BREATHE which was remixed by Rishi Rich in a 'Desi' hit featuring H-Dhami. An album of 12 songs soon emerged that took Shad Star's classically trained voice to new heights by fusing its R&B/Jazz tones with Harmony's African and Asian inspired dance/hip-hop productions. The result caught the attention of Starforce Entertainment who booked him to open for Fabolous this summer.
