"The Lift" - produced by Jim Dickinson

Founded in Sikeston, MO, home of Lambert's Café and Throwed' Rolls, Shady Deal has been throwing down with an intensity that has gotten them the reputation as one of the best "party" bands around the South. Now re-located to Oxford, MS, Shady Deal has been accepted as one of Oxford's own, playing steady gigs at Proud Larry's and spreading their infectious grooves and good times everywhere else they go.

Originally formed in 1999 as a garage band, school came and went along with college until 2002 when Jesse, Mason, Austin and Jake began to get serious about their music. Traveling as a four piece, Shady Deal took clubs in St. Louis, Columbia, MO, and the Cape Girardeau and Sikeston areas by storm. The band was completed after meeting with James Pendley whose touch on the keyboards brought exactly what Shady Deal had been missing. Now that all of the pistons were firing in time with each other, Shady Deal has become a force to be reckoned with.

Landing some gigs on Beale Street in Memphis, TN for post-Widespread Panic shows in 2002 & 2003, Shady Deal started turning heads and ears upside down. Legendary producer Jim Dickinson, who has more than 30 years in the music business and has worked with artists such as Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, and The North Mississippi All Stars, took Shady Deal under his wing and produced their first album 'The Lift', released in Feb. '04.

Shady Deal has shared the stage with Stockholm Syndrome, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Papa Grows Funk, Bloodkin, Tishamingo, Moonshine Still, Speakeasy and The Brotherhood of Groove and worked their way into many southern markets including Memphis, Nashville, New Orleans, Birmingham, Athens, Atlanta, and Macon to name a few. The past summer saw Shady Deal take on the Southeast with a successful 44 night summer tour. With a brand new light show, this spring and summer will see Shady Deal take it to the next level.
