Shady Lane String Band

Formed in the spring of 2005, SLSB is a result of four like minded pickers who just liked to stay up all night long playing their uniqe style of Kansas Bluegrass. Before long, word would catch on to what was happening on the outskirts of their little Kansas town, and a trip to the city was made. With more and more gigs, more and more people kept showing up looking for a place to let their hair down, stomp their boots, and party all night long. Soon after, in the fall of 2006 they were able to make a long awaited mark on the Kansas bluegrass scene, playing Stages 5 and 7 at the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival in Winfield, KS. In addition to the Walnut Valley, SLSB has also grabbed feature spots at the Konza Music Fest, AggieFest Music Festival, and the Purple Power Play on Poyntz. It has recently been proud to introduce Christie Murman as a new addition to the band. It has been their pleasure to share the stage with such acts as: Oakhurst, Hillstomp, My-Tea Kind, The Dewayn Brothers, Arkamo Rangers, GrazGrove, and The Canvas.
