Lyrics

Make Some Money

Written By: Joel Kamins

If I play this song maybe I could make some money
If I play it real good maybe I could meet some honies
And if I play my song, will anybody sing along
If I play this song maybe I could make some money

My bank account is empty
and my change jar just has pennies
do you think someone could lend me
a little bit of gas money, to get me to the show
where I could make some money

If I get a good job maybe I could make some money
and if I work real hard maybe one day
i could get me a promotion that, takes me right up to the top
If I get a job good maybe I could make some money

You know what time it is?
It's time to go to work!

Livin' the Real Life

Written By: Joel Kamins

I always thought mine was better than the real life
all the time I was going on a free ride
the world was mine so I rode it like a landslide
into the ground just like a mini van I didn't like

The other day I was sitting home alone
I closed the curtains and turned off the phone
I played my tunes sitting on my throne
then I looked around at everything I own

And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
Don't know how much further I'll fall
And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life

I wonder if I'll ever take the next step
I wonder how much of this life I've waisted
Did you ever just see a chance and take it
without thinking about the complications

Somebody tell me am I getting through to you?
Somebody help me if I'm gonna make it too
Somebody sell me on all these crazy things you do
Will somebody buy me before I loose my values?

And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
The bigger you are the harder you fall
And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life

And if I loose my mind
will I crack under the pressure
would you come and stand behind me
or will you steer me to disaster, faster

Thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
The higher you are the further you fall
Thats when a realized I'm livin the real life

And when I'm ready to take the next step
I'll look both ways before I cross the road yeah
Its hard to say what lies in front of me
Because I'll never know who's gonna stand behind me

Thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
And thats when a realized I'm livin the real life
I don't know how much further I'll fall
Thats when a realized I'm livin the real life

7500 Reasons

Written By: Joel Kamins

Note: These lyrics are written in common (workin' man) vernacular

Let me tell you a story about what happened to me, I was drivin across the country haulin boats you see, Rackin up the miles, spending all my dollars ,thinkin that I would get paid for the job

I broke down in the desert, I broke down in Indiana, broke my windshield somewhere in the middle, now its been a long time and I want whats mine but the man with the money I cant find because

He ripped me off
and now I'm pissed off
I've got seventy five hundred reasons of why I should go and kill him
and only one law that says I shouldn't

N.Y. to CA, Mich to Miss, I was following my orders, pick up and delivery, got a GPS, I got a queen size bed, a couch, and a cooler, and a pillow for my head

but my credit cards were on the max, and could not come up with all the cash for the gas, so borrowed money to get me home,
and now I just want what I am owed, because

He ripped me off
an now I'm pissed off
I've got seventy five
hundred reasons why I should go and kill him and only one law that says I shouldn't
I've got seventy five hundred reasons, but aint no law supporting my position, So I'll have to adjudicate him in my own way

the moral of the story as you can see, is don't take a job based when its based on greed, next time I'll look for a better way, and I know to get a contract if I want to get paid, because

When I'm Grown

Written By: Joel Kamins

It's 6 o'clock and the sun is going down, I try to clear my head of these thoughts from spinning round, days fly by and weeks are good, even though I feel misunderstood, I wish they knew what I was all about.

Because I try to remember all the things you said I'd need to know when I'm Grown, and all the things you taught me, there's so much more I could have known

Yesterday, It's not important now, cause what I need to focus on is not when, but how, tomorrow is another day, as many people would like to say, they're still looking for what they havn't found.

Cause I try to remember all the things you said I'd need to know when I'm grown, and all the things you taught me there's so much more I should have known

As I find my way through this crazy world, should I buy a house or marry a pretty girl, like an orange in an apple row, I feel so unconventional, to live my life alone and rent for now

And I wish I could remember all the things you said I'd need t know when I'm grown, and if I paid attention, there's so much more I would have known

Lookin' back, I know we did the best we could, yeah, I was a handful but I turned out pretty good, sometimes I feel so far away, but all these miles I choose to stay, hope you know I love ya like I should

And I try to remember all the things you said I'd need to know when I'm grown, and all the things you taught me, there's so much more I wish I'd known

Out Of Body

Written By: Joel Kamins & J.B. Beverley

I'm on a mission to find the sun
clear eyes and a clear mind to shine upon
limbs and roots they hold me strong
lifted high by an ancient song

I left my body behind
I'm reaching for the sky
I'm trying to free my mind
I left my body behind

Riding towards an endless maze
Earth in flames, your flames, cause its not me
Say goodbye to the world that you know, cause you're the one to blame
Then you'll find that your beneath yourself and you'll never be the same

I left my body behind
I'm reaching for the sky
I'm trying to free my mind
I left my body behind

No return because the journey is long and the path so hard to find
I finall found my solitude when I had nothing left to hide

I left my body behind
I'm reaching for the sky
I'm trying to free my mind
I left my body behind

Pack My Things

Written By: Joel Kamins

I tried to get mine, just before you'd given in
to these time of overrated competition
so I'll shine like the sun into the desert
if you don't mind I'll pack my things up and I'll never

turn around and be on your side
or be there when you find
that you can't keep treating me this way

Ain't got no ride, I gave it up for the dream
Do or die, cause life is short or so they tell me
Suicide? Financially I'm already dead
If you don't mind I'll pack my things up and I'll never

turn around and be on your side
or be there when you find
that you can't keep treating me this way

For this I can't sleep at night
Without this I know things won't be right
There is something inside that lets you stand beside me
Even though I know that you'll keep treating me this way

So just sit back and think about this for a second
If I took what was yours and traded it for a debt
Well in your eyes I'm just another greedy bastard
So if you don't mind I'll pack my thing up and I'll never

turn around and be on your side
or be there when you find
that you can't keep treating me this way

Yeah!

Written By: Joel Kamins

I hear the sound, of the wave that knocks me down,
But I get back on my board an keep on paddling out
because that next wave is mine, and as the crest lifts me high,
I drop on down into the line and all I have to say is

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can try to duck and dive, but there is no place to hide have to set my fear aside and get up on my feet
Thunder water splash my face, the world slows down time and pace, before it breaks I escape and all I have to say is

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So build your shrine, and drink your wine,
then get down on your knees and pray yeah
If you think thats for you, then you need to go to school
and learn some universal rules, and all I have to say is

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Counting On The Road

Written By: Joel Kamins

One fine day
(2)-To sit around
Three empty chairs
For me to count
Five amplifiers all broken down, empty
Six packs all around

Wishing I was on a journey long, around the world is what I want, and every time I'm sitting home, I'm always counting on the road

on the Seventh day
Ate up and dry
Nine states from home
I-10, I drive
Eleven players from a
Dozen bands, in
Thirteen ways we broke the van

Wishing I was on a journey long, around the world is what I want, and every time I'm sitting home, I'm always counting on the road

I like to be in the bright lights
I make lots of noise late into the night
I'm gonna see the country like an old time music man
So step on the gas and don't let me see no brake lights

Fourteen shows in
Fifteen days
Sixteen year olds
NC17 ways
Eighteen inches of snow is fun when
Nineteen out of
Twenty times you're getting drunk because you're
Twenty-one

I like to be in the bright lights
I make lots of noise late into the night
I'm gonna see the country like an old time music man
So step on the gas and don't let me see no brake lights

I'll Drink Tonight

Written By: Joel Kamins

I'll drink tonight,
I'll drink until the morning comes,
and when the sunlight hits my face
you can call me a cab and send me home

I'll drink tonight,
just lookin' for something to do,
maybe go out and see a show,
maybe we could grab a couple of brew,

if that's alright with you

I'll drink tonight,
I'd like to make a toast to you,
if you would buy me another shot,
maybe you could make it two,

if that's alright with you

I'll drink tonight,
just another round or two,
then you can give me all of your love,
and I can give all my love to you

because I know that you want me to

I'll drink tonight,
I'll drink till the morning comes,
and when the sunlight hits my face
you can call me a cab and send me home
