Bio
Reese Weil was born on Aug. 27, 1984 in Chico, Calif.. From the beginning, music resonated in Reeses soul. His father, Greg, was an accomplished musician; traveling nationwide and playing music with the likes of Carlos Santana and The Kingsmen. There was never a doubt that Reese wouldnt follow this same path. By the time he was 5, a guitar was as easy to hold as a pencil. He could pluck strings better than a high school kid in band class. Beyond that, Reese showed an unnatural appreciation and respect for music. At age 12, Reese was a polished guitar player and song writer. His talents soon became recognized by local musicians in Chico. Before he was out of high school, Reese was becoming a staple in the local music scene. Chicos cultural arts and music scene are far more plentiful and diverse than one could imagine. For Reese, it provided the opportunity and forum to display his unique talents. He played with local acts such as Mystic Roots, Zachary Tree and One Block Radius. Still, though, Reese couldnt commit. The pursuit to fulfill his musical needs was endless. He wanted more. He wanted better. He wanted to be musically perfect. He moved to Boston to attend the Berklee School of Music in 2004. It was here that Reese decided to commit. This process has been excitingly brutal for Reese, but his commitment continues. The pursuit to balance his spheres and be musically perfect will be never-ending. And thats what he wants. I have been given a gift. But my hard work and perseverance have allowed this gift to be shared with any who would listen. Now I want to share it with the world. And I wont stop til every person is listening. Yah know? The last three years have seen Reese evolve into an ingenious artist. His guitar playing is methodical, while still revealing intricate pieces of improv that cruise over a base line. And dont attempt to classify his music, because you cant. The smooth blues of Stevie Ray Vaughn meeting Dr.. Dres deep-base beats isnt a genre. It is Reese Weil. Mixed with lyrics that provoke listeners thoughts and emotions, and Reese Weil is destined to be an important voice of his generation.
