Bio
Shaina Taub is a Vermont-raised, New York-based performer and songwriter. Fronting her band on keys and playing to packed houses at venues such as Rockwood Music Hall and Joe's Pub for the past two years, Taub recently released her debut EP, What Otters Do. This electic six-song collection spotlights her unique breed of pop brewed with folk and soul.
She writes for and performs in Political Subversities, a long-running, hit weekly musical sketch show at the People’s Improv Theater, whose music video of her song, 'Political Wife' was featured on Huffington Post Comedy. Her original folk-funk opera, The Daughters, has been produced at CAP21 Theatre Company and the Yale Institute of Music Theater. As a songwriter, she's received a Macdowell Fellowship and $20,000 commission from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival to score a new theater piece.
