Beginning her singing career at the early age of six years old, Shakila Lee is a well-traveled songstress with dreams of sharing her story with the world. Like so many other young girls, Shakila used Star Search and the Apollo as inspiration to perform, however she was priviledged to another way to hone her skills as an entertainer. With both parents serving with the U.S. Army, Shakila had the opportunity to showcase her talents in local talent shows and musical companies to all walks of life. Spending most of her time in Texas, without her parents, Shakila began a journey that many people do not experience until adulthood. Now as a young adult and as a student at UTA, Shakila makes it a priority to volunteer at Big Brother/Big Sister and other community orgnizations. Being no stranger to loneliness, Shakila realizes the importance of having an outlet to express yourself and gives her time to support people in need. "At times, growing up as an 'Army Brat' was difficult, especially when my parents were in Iraq, but it gave me time to dig deep and most importantly, write." - Shakila Lee. Writing music for her became a way to release emotion when no one was there to listen. With a completed project on the way, 19 year-old Shakila's first single "FYG" gives a glimpse into the life of a young lady with an edge. After linking with Independent Label Ghostown 8tz Music Group in September, Shakila has had the opportunity to grow with a family of musicians that are dedicated to producing quality music. Armed wth experience and talent Shakila Lee is ready to take the world by storm.
