SHAM

Sean Hugh Allen Murray moved to Canada from South Africa in 1999 and started making solo electronic music under the name of SYNKRO, distorted electronic beat driven compositions(rythmic noise). He later "refined" his sound and was signed to Sublight Records in 2004, culminating in an extensive European tour. With a more commercial sound in mind he started work on the SHAM project in late 2005. He found musicians Chris Driscoll(drums) and Jason Malloy(keyboards); 'contributes' to the sound of the dynamic Winnipeg music scene and who could see SHAM's vision. They now form a solid unit with influences of genres ranging from industrial to rock, from alternative to electronica. Not many bands have successfully combined all these genres into a sound that is edgy and contemporary with catchy, dark and dramatic melodies. Their songs include enthusiastic dance numbers and haunting ballads.
