"Fly Magazine Review 2009"

"Shana Tova's immediacy on 'Morsels' is unapologetically to the point. However, the lush kaleidoscopic swathes of rolling rhythmical vibrancy provide a bed for Geordie Blake to leap from vocally, like some kind of musical eel. 'Ants' boasts a nuclear winter storm of a chorus while 'Sleech' is an eight year old terminal leper, nagging you with his Christmas list in July - persistant, contagious and yet moving." - The Fly Magazine

Only just landed here, released on May 4th, tasty set of alternative contemporary indie songs with a clever poppy post-hardcore twist and insects are just as important and if emo wasn’t such a dirty word we’d tell you about the real in flight emotion here. www.shanatova.net - ORGAN Arts

Bio

Shana Tova are Birmingham UK's patchwork artrock tunesmithys.

In May 2009 the band's self-titled debut EP was released on Viann &
Violet amidst a clamour of badges, stickers, CDs, downloads and poppy
goodness to rounds of excited applause. Then winter walked among us and
January 2010 saw another split EP released with labelmates Little
Dipper through Viann & Violet entitled 'Lift This Red Mist'.

The band re-enter the studio at the end of February 2010 to record their third release, to be released later in 2010.

Shana Tova played last year with Cursive, Kid Canaveral and Pompeii amongst others and played Birmingham's prestigious Artsfest; Shana
Tova's Geordie also joined Johnny Foreigner onstage for additional guitar duties. Here's to an exciting 2010 with their first show
co-headlining with Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens' current favourites - Elephants.

Shana Tova
meld the sweet and the ascerbic; their 'exploded diagram pop' deconstructing perfect tunes and reassembling them as interwoven meshes of angular yet accessible sound!
The band find influence in:

Jeff LeVine comics
Kandinsky
The film American Splendor
Klee
& Wile E Coyote for his persistence

and bands such as;

Comet Gain
The Carpenters
Fugazi
Primitives
Soeza
Milky Wimpshake
Thingy
Stapleton
Mew
Dinosaur Jr
Jetplane Landing
No Fun At All
The Starries
Panda Love Unit
Sugar
Minus The Bear
Television Personalities
Nation Of Ulysees
Rival Schools
Husker Du
Socratic
The Hidden Cameras
