Born with a passion for music, Shane Ashton has been singing and performing for crowds since he was two years old. From the small, Northern Wisconsin town of Laona, Shane attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee to pursue a degree in music. Since college, Shane has become a registered BMI songwriter and regular nightlife and Pride-circuit performer. Shane is currently performing with Platinum, a ten-piece band, at weekly shows across the Midwest. Shane spent the last year performing at Pride festivals around the Midwest, including on the Miller Lite Main Stage at Milwaukee PrideFest, with his troupe of six dancers for an hour set.

Pumping up a packed crowd with their high octane dance routines, Shane performed original songs from his forthcoming independent album, in addition to pulsating covers like “Turn Me On,” “Hold It Against Me,” and his signature, “At Last.” Shane and his dancers took their show on the road all summer, playing at various festivals. Shane's first single “Heartbeat” was featured in the independent film EATING OUT: THE OPEN WEEKEND. “Heartbeat” can also be found on the charity album “Indigo,” which proceeds go
to support The Trevor Project. Shane also recently placed in the top four in the West Hollywood Original Song Contest for his song “(Party Like An) Earthquake.”

A philanthropist and human rights activist, Shane is actively supportive of equal rights, the fight against youth suicide and the fight against HIV/AIDS. Shane has volunteered with and performed at One Heartland; the largest care program for children who experience type 2 diabetes, poverty, HIV/AIDS and other challenges. Garnering material from his own life, Shane has long been writing songs based on life
experiences. Shane is currently writing new material, recording and producing his first album, which he describes as an “urban pop” sound. The yet untitled album will be out next year with the first two singles available on iTunes now. Shane credits Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Beyoncé as his most pivotal musical influences.
