Bio

Kings rule over the people. But a champion? A champion is of the people, a figure who carries their joys and pains on his shoulders. We have too many kings, what we need now is a champion. Shane Eli is a champion.

Shane Eli is an L.A. based producer, rapper and songwriter. Born in Canada, he and his mother moved around between his birthplace and the Bahamas, which he considered home as a young child. It wasn’t until college that he began to focus on his true passion - music. Honing his mic skills in freestyle rap ciphers, Shane left behind a college football scholarship to devote his time to learning the fundamentals of music making. With no formal training, Shane draws on both his diverse background and a music collection that includes everything from Ella Fitzgerald to The Clash to craft his distinct and highly versatile sound.

Shane has produced for artists ranging from Diggy Simmons to six-time Grammy Award winning funk legends, Earth, Wind & Fire. In concert he’s opened for established hip-hop stars including: Common, Ludacris, Talib Kweli, J. Cole and others. He has also had his music placed on episodes of CSI, Friday Night Lights and No Ordinary Family..

Having gained success a as a producer, Eli is driven to build a career as an artist. In June of 2010 he independently released his debut album “The Push”, comprised of 15 tracks all written, recorded and produced in a make shift studio in his L.A. apartment. He followed “The Push” with his intensely versatile sophomore set “I Can Do Better”, hosted by DJ Skee and available for free stream and direct download here.

He lives by the words tattooed on his arm: “Those who don’t create the future they want must endure the future they get.”
