Rock n' Roll Country

Written By: Shane Erik Bowman

Rock n’ Roll Country

I grew up with the Crüe
Smokin’ in the boys room
Shoutin’ at the devil.
Charlie Daniels
Put that devil to shame
Just sawin’ on his fiddle.

In front of the mirror
With an air guitar
Rockin’ with Van Halen.
And every week
I’d watch the Dukes of Hazzard
So I could sing along with old Waylon.

Chorus:
I’m a cowboy on the range
I’m a rock star on the stage
I’m honky-tonk like Merle and Hank
I’m a guitar slingin’ great
I’m country and I’m rock n’ roll
I’m right where the two meet
I’m long hair and cowboy boots
I’m rock n’ roll country

With a Whiplash Smile
Screamin’ Rebel Yell
Curl my lip in a sneer.
Feelin’ heartache
Listenin’ to old Hank sing
There’s a Tear in My Beer

Got a welcome to the jungle
In my little home town
From Axl and Slash
And I wanted to wear
Nothin’ but black
So I’d be more like Johnny Cash.

Chorus:
I’m a cowboy on the range
I’m a rock star on the stage
I’m honky-tonk like Merle and Hank
I’m a guitar slingin’ great
I’m country and I’m rock n’ roll
I’m right where the two meet
I’m long hair and cowboy boots
I’m rock n’ roll country

When George Thorogood sang
I’d want three drinks
Yeah one was bourbon.
When I’d hear George Strait
I’d wanna ride rodeo
Be in Amarillo by Morning.

Singin’ along
With them boys from Jersey
On a Steel Horse I Ride.
And the words
Are painted on my heart
To A Country Boy Can Survive…

Chorus:
I’m a cowboy on the range
I’m a rock star on the stage
I’m honky-tonk like Merle and Hank
I’m a guitar slingin’ great
I’m country and I’m rock n’ roll
I’m right where the two meet
I’m long hair and cowboy boots
I’m rock n’ roll country

Case of Corona

Written By: Shane Erik Bowman

Case of Corona

Well it’s Monday morning
And I called in sick
Came down with a case of corona
That I gotta deal with

Doubt it’s contagious
But I better play it safe
Won’t go into work
Won’t even think about the place

I think a nice sea breeze
And a dose of sunshine
Is what the doctor would order
With a wedge of lime

Chorus:
Just gotta let this case of corona
Work it’s way thru me
They say drink lots a fluids
And I have to agree
Cuz I only just started
And I’m feeling really good
For calling in sick -
Way better than I should

Yeah it’s Monday morning
And I called in sick
Came down with a case of corona
That I gotta deal with

I got it last night
When I went to the store
It turned into a case
When I went back for more

So now that I’ve got it
There’s nothing I can do
Just have to make the best of it
Yeah I’ll try to make it thru

Chorus:
Just gotta let this case of corona
Work it’s way thru me
They say drink lots a fluids
And I have to agree
Cuz I only just started
And I’m feeling really good
For calling in sick -
Way better than I should

Yeah it’s Monday morning
And I called in sick
I got me a case of corona
That I’m dealing with

I got it pretty good
But I’m doing ok
I’m taking lots of medicine
Been at it all day

Just let it run it’s coarse
And probably by tonight
I won’t be feeling a thing
Yeah I’ll be doing alright

…Well it’s Tuesday morning
And I’m calling in late
Guess all that getting better
Gave me one helluva headache...

3:16

3:16

I hold your picture to my chest
As I lay in this old chair
Can’t sleep in our bed anymore
It’s so cold without you there

I wake up crying your name
In the middle of the night
Dreaming of spinning tires,
breaking glass, and flashing lights

You reach for me
I hold on to you tight
You tell me I’ll have to be strong
Then I start to cry

I said that I love you
And that I always will
As you slowly close your eyes
You whisper “I’ll be waiting for you”

Chorus:
It’s been 3 months and 16 days
Since the night we said goodbye
3 months and 16 days
Since you left and my heart died
They say that time will end this hurt
And I pray to God it’s true
It’s been 3 months and 16 days
And I miss you.

I know you’re up there waiting for me
But I feel so alone
Life is just an empty shell
This house is not a home

I know He has his reasons
But I’m so bitter inside
Why did He have to take you away
Why did you have to die

I know I am being selfish
But I wish it had been me
Then I’d be up there waiting for you
And you’d be down here crying for me

I know it’s wrong for me to say
And I’m sure that it’s a sin
But I wish that I would die right now
So I could be with you again.

Chorus:
It’s been 3 months and 16 days
Since the night we said goodbye
3 months and 16 days
Since you left and my heart died
They say that time will end this hurt
And I pray to God it’s true
It’s been 3 months and 16 days
And I miss you.

Our friends keep telling me
How time will ease the pain
How my heart will heal
How I’ll love again

But I will never love another
This I swear to you
We promised to forsake all others
And our vows are still true

I always wear my ring
Yours is round my neck on a chain
I want everyone to know that I’m yours
As I wait to hold you again.

Even though you’ve gone away
Death did not do us part
I know you’re watching over me
I can feel you in my heart

Chorus:
It’s been 3 months and 16 days
Since the night we said goodbye
3 months and 16 days
Since you left and my heart died
They say that time will end this hurt
And I pray to God it’s true
It’s been 3 months and 16 days
I miss you.
