Bio

Life is full of endless of opportunities. For Shane Farmer, he always wanted to be a singer-songwriter. He cannot remember a time when he didn't like to sing, discovering his love for music, about the same time as he found his way out of his crib. Every chance he could, Shane found his way to the kitchen, so he could bang on the pots and pans with spoons. At 3-years old, Shane began tinkering on a battery-powered toy piano that his parents bought him. Once old enough, he added the guitarist and took lessons. Eventually, the guitar would open the door to songwriting. Soon, his mom shared the music of Elvis Presley, inspiring Shane to want to perform. His debut was in the 8th grade, when he entered the school talent show; and with that, his classmates knew. He won 1st place in this first performance. Today, if you run into any of them, they will still remember the energy in the room. At 18-years old, Shane began to write his own songs, but they didn't take on any real meaning until about 2 months before his 21st birthday. In October 1998, Shane's mother passed away. Then 8 months later, Shane discovered that he had testicular cancer. For the next 2 years, Shane underwent 2 surgeries, multiple tests and the beginning of countless struggles. Through it all, Shane has held onto one very important goal, create music that inspires hope. Then use the positive message from his songs and the success of his career to make a difference in the world. Shane is currently working on his most important album project to date. He has dedicated the debut track, "Out of Here" to his sister, Robin. The day after Labor Day 2010, Robin went into surgery to alleviate a severe case of acid reflux. Things went badly and so began a 5 year battle through over 40 surgeries, multiple hospitals and nursing facilities, due to the intensity of her needs. Sadly, Robin lost her battle in May 2016. Shane hopes that Robin's memory will live on through this song; and that the song will be heard around the world, inspiring others who may have hit a bump in the road of life, not to give up.
