"The Shane Howard Band has a very unique sound"

"The Shane Howard Band has a very unique sound. The vocals are pure Texas by today's standards. The best part of the Texas music scene is that it is not defined as country. When you listen to the SHB it's obvious that you are not listening to traditional country, but progressive Texas. Definitely a good listen."
- Cara Frost - Radio Free Texas (radiofreetexas.org)

"I’d make room for the Shane Howard Band"

There’s tons of acts out there trying to do there thing and if Texas ever gets too full, I’d make room for the Shane Howard Band. - JB Cloud - KBCY Program Director - Abilene, TX

"Great entertainers!"

The Shane Howard Band is a wonderful group of guys that have a lot of talent. They are full of energy and it is obvious that they are having a good time entertaining the crowd. I was impressed that they had such a great country sound but were still capable of pulling off some good rock 'n roll. Great entertainers! - Vonna Muesse - Entertainment Committee Chairman- Relay for Life

"The Shane Howard Band is one of the hottest up and coming Texas acts in the US"

The Shane Howard Band is one of the hottest up and coming Texas acts in the US. When I get calls looking for great Country acts, The Shane Howard Band is the first name off my lips. One of the hardest gigs to play is a street dance or town fair, because the age range is so extreme. The Shane Howard Band can nail it. The Shane Howard Band impressed me because they adapt to any crowd.Take it from someone in the biz for 25 years now. The Shane Howard Band is at the Top of the Texas Music ladder.
- Toney Rogers - AKA Daddy T - Daddy T Entertainment

Honest, home-grown country, the way we like it! - Chris Ermoian - Executive Producer - Texas Music Cafe, Internet, TV, and Radio Show

I’m thrilled to hear the new cd and I know that it will make him stand out not only as an artist, but as one of the most talented songwriters on the Texas music scene.” - Jennifer Allen - Program Director - KAGG Clear Channel - Bryan, TX

""I was playing SHB before anyone"."

It amazes me that the Shane Howard Band has not been snatched up yet. SHB is the best kept secret in Texas and I feel fortunate to have discovered them early. WHEN the rest of the music industry finally opens their ears to this amazing talent, I will be that guy that says, "I was playing SHB before anyone".

Bio

Shane Howard from Riesel, Texas (pop. 973) started performing at age 12 when he backed up fiddlers at fiddle contests. Within three years, Shane was asked to join the band, Reunion in 1989 where he played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals on a few songs. His experience led him form his own band, Shane Howard & Rampage in 1992. For the next ten years, Shane Howard played the Central Texas music scene, first as a cover band, then later incorporating his own original music. During this time, Shane opened for country artists Gary Stewart, John Conlee, Joe Stampley and Andy Griggs, and his group was named one of the top 5 bands in Central Texas by the Waco Tribune-Herald readers poll in 1999. In 2003, Shane dropped the Rampage name and simply became known as the Shane Howard Band. He then recorded his songs and released the debut album, I'll Never Find What I'm Looking For (2004) which featured the regional hit, "Lick It, Slam It, Suck It." He then recorded the follow-up album, Down This Road (2006) which included the hit single, "15 Miles From Nowhere." That song in particular was voted #52 out of the top 100 songs for 2006 on Radio Free Texas. The Shane Howard Band was again recognized as being one of the top bands in Central Texas by the Waco Tribune-Herald readers poll in 2005 and 2006, and they even gained sponsorship with Lone Star Beer - The National Beer of Texas® during that time. In 2007, Shane wrote "1953" about the Waco Tornado after hearing stories from his grandmother who survived the terrible storm. This led to the creation of the band's first music video and documentary DVD release, 1953 (2008) to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the worst tornado disaster in Texas history. Soon afterwards, Shane Howard along with longtime drummer, Steve Scheifley and bassist, Gary Scott went back to the studio to record their newest album, Out Of Control (2009). This release includes the catchy single, "Rumors Fly" as well as the title track and the touching ballad, "Emma's Song (Legacy Of Love)" written on behalf of Shane's second daughter. The Shane Howard Band continues to keep an active touring schedule across Texas. They have opened for notable Texas artists Doug Moreland, Aaron Watson, Luke Olson, Wade Bowen and Tommy Alverson, and they opened for Perfect Stranger, Pat Green and Billy Joe Shaver.
