Growing up in the small town of Iron River, Alberta -under the influence of a dad who loved to croon all manner of heartfelt songs - is it any wonder Shane has always been interested in the sweet tone of an old hand me down Fender acoustic guitar and rootsy music.
Crossing styles has always been the norm, as has instrument confusion. Shane is adept at guitar, bass, drums, banjo and vocals. With his defunct band - Mother Engine - some of his songs were recorded with a group of friends joining up for the session. These days Shane plays with the smokin' rock group The Fire Seeds, yet still has an interest in the kind of music he was raised on.
Influences include Waylon Jennings, Eric Clapton, Blind Melon, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Bob Marley, The Doobie Brothers, The Allman Brothers, etc....
These influences suggest the importance of an earthen based sound, a roots rock sort of approach.
