shane was born in Houston Texas in 1968. music was the major thing his family did for entertainment. From his earliest memories--shane and his big sister julie were listening to the beatles,led zep.,csny,america,santana,eagles,neil diamond,cat stevens, and all that really good stuff,even from when they were in diapers--good or bad it had a huge impact on them--shane wanted to know how to create songs even way back then--his family moved every 2 or 3 years--so the one constant was music--by the sixth grade, shane was writing poetry by the pound--his sis. went to a bible camp and learned some guitar chords. Shane's Dad bought his sister a 25 dollar pawn shop classical guitar--and she showed him some chords. That same year he got involved in boy scouts--where he met his scout master--Mike Swartz. Swartz , also being a guitarist --took him to see the scorpions and iron maiden at reunion arena and shane was hooked. " I had all these songs in my head--but i my fingers were jokers and i couldn't get the songs out." After high school, shane joined the marines and kept playing. After desert shield/storm--shane was a decorated combat vet. who came out of the marines to pursue music. He met his wife julie at church and have been married 12 years. They have a 14 month old son Jackson. Shane is also a professional fireman for the city of waco tx. He has just finished his latest project "The less traveled road" which is a collage of influences from rich mullins to monte montgomery--his fifth record of original tunes --like robert jonson going to the cross roads and selling his soul to be able to play like that--shane just went the other way--and instead of it only taking 6 months--it has taken a lifetime--still, most people wonder how he plays like that? the devil is in the details. Shane plays a alvarez mmy1--through a pedal board going through various effects to acheive a monster tone--and is one of the few singer/songwriter/guitarist who single handedly makes you think your listening to a band --all the while reaching in and rips your heart to peices.........
