Shanika Anderson

Shanika's life is a testimony to the fact that God's promises will never fail. Growing up in a single-parent household in Brooklyn, New York, Shanika and her family faced many difficulties. Despite those challenges, Shanika was able to rise above her circumstances by keeping her eyes fixed on the promises of God.
Shanika first began singing in church at the age of three. Now at the age of 24, her ministry extends to various events such as concerts, banquets, musicals, funerals, weddings, and other special events. She has ministered with several groups including "Rapture", "The Prichard Ensemble" and "Voices of Praise". She performed in the musical "I Can See with the Lights Out" at the Apollo Theatre in 2003.
During the difficult times in her life, Shanika found consolation in the word of God. She would encourage herself with these words through song. Her debut album, "Rest on My Promises" now encourages others to trust God and to persevere inspite of the stuggles of life. From the upbeat tune "Keep Pressin'" to the contemplative lyrics in "Rest on My Promises", Shanika reminds listeners that God is able to see them through and that it is His desire that we trust Him wholeheartedly instead of worrying and doubting.

Shanika has been writing songs since she was 12 years old. Her lyrics are inspirational, evocative and convincing. She credits her writing style to the influence of gospel recording artist, Fred Hammond. Her singing style has been compared to Joann Rosario and CeCe Winans. She sings with power, passion and with the anointing.
