"Shani is On Her Way"

"Singer songwriter Shani Shousterman is anything but a pop diva, but her new single “On My Way” has the sass of Sara Bareilles and the jazzy bravado of Norah Jones."
-Rebecca Marshall, Neontommy.com

"Conversations with Clare: Shani Shousterman, Soulful Songwriter"

“Her voice crackles – not a rock star smoker’s drawl, or the sickly, raw screech of someone who’s talked too much, but the delicate fizz of champagne being poured into a glass.”

-Clare Sayas, editor HerCampus.com - Her Campus

“Bought your cd today at Whole Foods in Petaluma.
It's like a breathy glass of Guinness; rich, satisfying, and vaguely intoxicating.”

Bio

SHANI is a Los Angeles native singer/songwriter that began playing piano at the age of 7. Years later, she graduated USC’s Thornton School of Music in jazz piano, songwriting, and composing. She helped pioneer the prestigious Popular Music Program led by Chris Sampson, and received the Popular Music Department Award for excellence in her field upon graduation. In 2009, Shani released her self-recorded and self-produced, album “Warm Rain”, and toured the West Coast with fellow singer/songwriter Amanda Holmes. Shani’s ability to combine relatable, heartfelt lyrics and catchy, unique melodies captivated her audiences and helped turn these listeners into the beginnings of a growing fan base.

After two West Coast tours, numerous shows in L.A. and abroad, and with the release of her studio album Merry Go Round in 2012, Shani continues to perform as a featured artist at the world famous Universal Citywalk in Hollywood. In addition, she is an officially endorsed artist for Artists in the Plus, one of the most prominent Google+ groups (with over 800,000 followers) that is dedicated to hosting and promoting live shows for up and coming artists. Shani is currently working with film and T.V. directors and writing music for various grassroots projects in production. Her song "Perfect Sky" can be heard in the independent feature film "Mordy to the Max".

“[Shani’s] voice crackles – not a rock star smoker’s drawl, or the sickly, raw screech of someone who’s talked too much, but the delicate fizz of champagne being poured into a glass.” Some describe Shani’s music as “a twist on the styles of Adele, Sara Barreilles, Regina Spektor, and Norah Jones; something like a Adorah Barektor.” But ultimately, music is subjective, so take a listen.
