Lyrics

Don't Be Beautiful

Written By: Shannon Thomas

Puddles of blue, those intense eyes look up through your hair
It's just a frozen picture I keep in my mind
I'm no longer allowed to stare, allowed to care
But without your golden waves, I'm colorblind

Chorus:
And since I can't have you
Don't be beautiful
If can't love you
Don't be so right
Since I can't see you
Don't be beautiful
Please don't haunt me
If I can't hide

I'd do anything to forget
But I have you memorized
Despite of every layer that I've finally shed
I must admit, I'm still mesmerized

Chorus

'Cause I'd do anything to forget...

Those puddles of blue, your intense eyes look up through your hair
It's just a frozen picture I keep in my mind
And I'm no longer allowed to care, allowed to stare
But without your golden rays, I'm colorblind

Chorus

'Cause I can't let go of the past
I was the only one truly in love
With your every movement, your every breath
And I never, I never gave up

You're a Ghost

Written By: Shannon Thomas

Passing years don’t count for much
There are ways to keep in touch
Without ever trying
I’m stranded in your presence
You find a way to show your face
Without ever knowing

Chorus:
You’re a ghost, a living ghost
I miss you most when you’re here
You’re a ghost, a living ghost
You’re too well known to ever disappear

Here and there and everywhere
I’ve had more than just my share
I can forget forgetting
There’s the you that I have found
That I know too much about
And yet there’s so much I’m missing

Chorus

Over time nothing dies
Every piece of you is gone, yet you are still alive
I wish I could blame you
I want nothing more than to just be through
With your face
I see it every day

There’s the you that I have found
That I know too much about
And yet there’s so much I’m missing

Chorus

Tragic

Written By: Shannon Thomas

It doesn't make any sense
But that doesn't stop her
From doing it
All alone in her head
And she begs for the chance
To forget
Why she dies
Every time she tries to change
No surprise
Her thoughts get in the way

Chorus:
She doesn't see it how it really is
She never will & it's just so tragic

She's giving up, but holding on
To what she believes to be a fact
Turns her back on all she has
And she launches another attack
All the lies
She tells herself today
They're alive
And now she can't be saved

Chorus (2X)

Could she be any harder on herself?
All the good things she can't see
She can't believe
Could she be any harder on herself?
All the good things
Are not really happening

Chorus (2X)

Thought Battle

Written By: Shannon Thomas

Pulling myself in every direction
Is there no content compromise?
One day I asked myself,
"What am I really fighting for?
Can't both sides of my mind agree...
On something?"

Chorus:
My head starts screaming
I'm trying to find
The words I'm needing
But, oh, in my mind
I am a nobody trying to be somebody
In this thought battle

Part of me refuses to give up
Part of me knows I won't have any luck
But there's a way, there's a place
There's a time, oh, it's a shame
It's not easy, it's not easy

Repeat Chorus

Facing the problem won't solve it
You are what you think
The battle has begun
Myself vs. me

Repeat Chorus

Collide

Written By: Shannon Thomas

On a train, we're leavin'
Next stop's in Venice
Tell me again all your secrets
3 AM conversation
You don't know how I've waited
To talk to you and oh, I've waited for

Chorus:
My lipstick on your pillow
Inside jokes and your cologne
And things like catchin' fireflies
Royal blue skies while you and I…Collide

Let's get lost on purpose
Drive around and feel the rush
Let's make the most
Of our fulfilled hopes
Sharin' drinks and our dreams
Worshipping what we see
In each other we have everything

Repeat Chorus

I leave notes in your pocket
Watch you sleep, the way you eat
I savor every moment
Even while we watch tv
And I love our adventures
The way you are, it pleases me
Somehow I can remember…oh, Everything

On a high, won't come down
How could I when you're around
You make up for lost time
Before I could even try
To fall in love with somebody
But I can trust you
And I do, oh, 'cause I can find

Repeat Chorus

Asleep

Written By: Shannon Thomas

If I keep holding my breath
It'll never end
If I keep closing my eyes
I'll find what I need to find
If I save tonight
Somewhere in my pocket
I'll take my own advice
And prove I haven't lost it

Chorus:
Everything that I need is in a dream
I'm having constantly
If nothing is really as it seems
I'd rather stay asleep

For all the time that I've spent
Wishing I was in bed
I should've been making plans
To use what I already have
If I stay awake
Will I have the strengh to face a day
With all that's becoming true
My wishing's got no use

Repeat Chorus

...asleep, in my bed
Covers pulled over my head
In the dark, where the light
Can make me feel alive
I am fooled by myself
But it seems to help
Guess I would rather stay asleep

Repeat Chorus

Say What You Mean

Written By: Shannon Thomas

Help me understand this
I just can’t get around it
Everybody loves the same things
How can that be?

You say what you’re supposed to say
It’s not what you’d like to think
You’re a copy of a copy
’Cause you hate to disagree

Chorus:
Say what you mean
Mean what you say
I don’t know why you’re running away
From who you really are
Say what you mean
Mean what you say
I don’t know why you’re running away
From who you really ought to be

What would you do if all your friends
Just started disappearing?
Suddenly you’d have to use your head
Your own ears, your own eyes, form opinions

Repeat Chorus

Stop lying to yourself and everyone else
Just to fit into the mold they made for you
You’ve got to learn to refuse their help
What would you really choose to do
If no one was watching you?

Repeat Chorus
