""that warm edge that few female vocalists can deliver""

“It doesn’t take long. Within seconds you get that feeling that says, “I know that girl”. Yeah, she’s all grown up with a bit of attitude and maturity but Josie is back and better that we remember her. All this without the fake musical edge of the movie. The very first chords of “Come Over” make you “wanna” move and even if you’re “just listening” gives you the vision of that classic female artist. “Do you wanna come over, the light’s on over here, do you wanna come over, year after year”, very nice!! “Calling All Love” is just, very, very.. groovy. The arrangements are excellent, the studio work impeccable and the vocals well delivered with that warm edge that few female vocalist can deliver. There’s a Music Video waiting to be produced in “Pawn”. Lots of vision and hard work went into this project. More great music from the Great Pacific NorthWest.”

Bio

Shanta Louise is an emerging artist with a modern twist on one of the hottest genres of our time. If you like music with a message but still want to rock out you need to give this inspirational artist a listen. Shanta brings to the stage a voice with all the sultriness of indie and blues while managing to maintain all the vibe and fun of modern grunge and pop. The songs on her debut album release “I Mean To Tell You” are catchy and diverse. Though the album is consistent with itself, every single song has its own unique tone, style, and message which leaves you craving more, more, more!

This indie pop songstress was born in Kentucky and you can definitely feel the truth of her southern roots in her songwriting. It’s a clever vibe when meshed with her Seattle influence. Shanta came to Washington State when she was 5 years old and during this time she fell in love with music while watching “the 5th dimension” on TV. Since then Shanta has developed her love for music into a gift that reaches many. Her talents now also include several instruments in addition to singing and songwriting. Her live performances are as solid and breathtaking as her album. She woos and excited audiences wherever she goes.

Shanta has written and played with multiple bands over the past several years including: Live and recorded performances with the world famous Total Experience Gospel Choir, Rain Jam (back up vocals), Bittersweet (a duo with Ken Rosholt and they received radio play), and Glory Dog (lead singer/songwriter and had the privilege of performing at the Gasworks Park Peace Concert). In addition she has made multiple television appearances performing her solo material, has won talent competitions, performed at popular festivals, and has had several spots on radio as well.

In addition to being a talented singer/songwriter and performer Shanta also is very well educated and well traveled. She has a degree in Religious Studies from Gonzaga University in Washington State, has owned her own internet business, taught yoga, and has been a festival coordinator as well. Shanta even spent time living in Italy and India where she learned their cultures. When asked what she wants her music to do Shanta says “I want to empower the human spirit and connect with individuals on a soul level. I want to encourage people in their search for their true selves while experiencing higher reality and awareness in everyday life.”

Though Shanta has a diverse background in cultures and religious studies, seekers of authentic music will be grateful that she chooses to express her spiritual seeking through songwriting instead of becoming a nun or a yogi! Her sense of style, humor, passion, and depth will attract you to her the first time you hear that buttery voice, but you will feel inspired and moved each time you see her live. Shanta is a rare jewel waiting to be discovered, and she will be so keep your eyes and ears open for updates this year with the launch of “I Mean To Tell You!”!
