Indie Pop phenom Shanta Williams, also known as the self proclaimed: "Princess of R&B*R0ck" is a versatile and innovative Singer/Songwriter from New York City. Brilliantly fusesing smooth R&B, pulsating Hip Hop, kick ass Alternative Rock & Funk guitar rhythms with Shanta's provocatively sweet & sultry jazz stylistic vocal arrangements and enticing song lyrics makes her a force to be reckon with! Unconventional, genuine and nothing short of sensational. This Vibrant young songstress with an old school soul is not the average run of the mil Artist. She's progressive, pushes the envelop and is in a category of her own.

Inspired by The legendary Michael Jackson and many other talented musicians both past and present. This rising star's claim to fame and formula for success is about to make it's debut unlike any other! Born in Queens & raised in Brooklyn,New York. Shanta began her career in entertainment at the tender age of 8 as a child model/actress. She worked with "Faces", "Barbizon" and studied with Bob Luke the director of the hit television show "The Cosby Show". Growing up, Shanta's mother whom was a professional dancer use to have dance rehearsals at their apartment. Her mother would play music by :Motown's Diana Ross & the Supremes, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, The stylistics, some Barry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, and even classic Walt Disney Movies sound tracks. Shanta found herself drawn to the music and always singing along. It was then she fell in love with music and also began writing her own songs. Later on Shanta attended Performing Arts Junior High & High School for Music . She began to nurture her passion for music by taking piano, guitar, dance & voice lessons. She also sang at church in the youth choir. Touring throughout the U.S. and Canada each summer with the youth choir and participating in numerous talent showcases at school and within NYC.

Shanta was then discovered singing at an off-Broadway Cabaret by German Record producer Toby Gad. From there she embarked on her musical journey. Shanta created her own Independent label/enterprise; "Da Tribe Entertainment". The label {"Da Tribe"} released four CD Compilations entitled: "No Mercy 1,2 & 3" and "Subway Chronicles". The Compilation Cd's featured herself & several underground, up & coming Hip Hop Artists such as; "Speed Child". Units sold over 30,000 copies collectively within the 1st year without major distribution! Da Tribe continues to release mix tapes. She then met rock musician /songwriter/producer Tom Bakas of "Windfall Music" The musical duo created "The Princess Of "R&B Rock" sound & persona. Leading to current events such as; Best Female R&B Vocal nominee in the 'Los Angeles Music Awards',Features on various Mix tapes compilation Cd's such as "Best Bands vol.3" by Apache rose publishing. Not to mention winning contests and performing in various venues such as; the "Snocap/Digital Cafe Tour Live 2.0" - competition. Shanta continues to excel with her musical ambitions and is in the fore front of a rewarding career ahead.
