"UTG EXCLUSIVE: SHAPES & COLORS – “THE LIFE YOU STOLE”"

Remember Shapes & Colors? We introduced our readers to this group of Michigan up-and-comers earlier this year with the debut of their album Hold Your Breath.

Now they are back with a 3 song release entitled Apparitions in anticipation of the upcoming Halloween holiday. To give you a first taste of the EP, we’ve teamed up with the band to bring you “The Life You Stole.” It’s a rip-roaring track that will leave you begging for the remaining songs from the EP.

If you are a fan of bands like NGHBRS, Squid The Whale, K Sera, or Envy on the Coast, you’re guaranteed to love Shapes & Colors. Check it out for yourself below. - Under the Gun Review

"Emerging Artist: Shapes & Colors"

Rising from the ashes of Aria Aesthetic, Shapes & Colors is an alternative rock outfit hailing from Troy, Michigan. Debut album Hold Your Breath, released in May 2012, shows an incredible amount of promise for a group trying to find their niche in the industry. For a first album, Hold Your Breath is a refreshingly cohesive and consistent release. Listeners will find themselves drawn to powerful, precise vocals, honest and transparent lyrics, and melodic guitar work. Perhaps the highest compliment that I can pay to Shapes & Colors is that I caught vibes from bands such as Coheed & Cambria, Emery, and The Dear Hunter during my journey through Hold Your Breath. Shapes & Colors have promised big things in 2013 but until then, Hold Your Breath is enough to hold us over. - PPRAE

Bio

Michigan's own Shapes & Colors made quite a splash in 2015 with their EP, On Display, followed by a year of touring across the country. The alternative pop-rock quintet, comprised of members Travis Bobier (vocals, guitar), Bob Allers (bass guitar, vocals), Mike Morris (guitar), Kyle Labuta (guitar), and Scott Solomon (drummer) are now poised to release their new EP, LOVE/SEX/WARon September 9th, 2016.
The five song release features a more mature, pop-driven sound for the band, while capturing the essence of their previous alternative rock efforts. Lyrically,
LOVE/SEX/WAR is an honest personal statement for the band on the times, human nature, and their ongoing journey as musicians.
Having opened for many national acts such as Young the Giant, Sleeping with Sirens, Allen Stone, The Summer Set and more, Shapes & Colors are no strangers to capturing large audiences with their unique and multi-faceted sound. Don't miss out on the next big thing from Detroit Rock City.
