"Newcomer Shareen Amour Releases Out Of Control Music Video"

http://www.thelifefiles.com/2013/03/20/newcomer-shareen-amour-releases-out-of-control-music-video/ - The Life Files

"Artist to watch for 2013"

Pulsating synths, chest pumping bass, and a chorus full of energetic, Euro-style dance highs gives Shareen Amour’s first single, Out of Control, its addictive, bubbly character. With the low tones of an urban track, Out of Control is a testimony to becoming engulfed in music. It is possessed by the beat, as the need to dance and move overpowers all thought of social conformity. Shareen Amour sells it, as she vocally leads listeners through the building verses to a chorus that explodes with vigor.

Not only does Shareen Amour own this energetic track, but she is also the embodiment of its catchy, youthful energy. Shareen’s vivacious personality and passion for singing and dancing caused her mother to enroll the young star in dance lessons and the church choir at a young age. A request by her then manager to record demo songs lead Shareen Amour into song writing, and since then she has been creating songs that inspire listeners to disregard their issues and love the joy of life.
Having received respect and admiration from industry influencers, this beauty from Long Island, New York is sure to make an impact with her upcoming project. Whether it’s her mix and match style, chic red lipstick pout, or dope dance routines, Shareen Amour is looking to bring a new dynamic to the Dance Pop game. Inspired by the soul of Mary J.
Blige, the catchy, vibrant pop of N*Sync, lyrical genius of Diane Warren and David Foster, and other artists like Donna Summer and Beyonce, Shareen Amour has fused the greatest elements of her inspirers to create a dynamic sound and presence that is her own. It was during her senior year of high school that Shareen’s fellow classmates voted her
“Most Likely To Become Famous”. It looks like that day is fast approaching!

"New Mixtape: Shareen "Light" EP"

Shareen (@ShareenAmour) sets forth her debut project “Light” and she’s most definitely glistens with this blend of electro dance pop. We first spotted Shareen as she dropped off her first single “Fire (Set This World) which gets a trap remix from Johny Soul. Her voice has a unique fit with the production choices on this 4 track fist pump EP. - DDot Omen

"HEAR THIS: SHAREEN SHEDS 'LIGHT', SAYS "DON'T LET THE CREDITS ROLL""

Let's hear it for the indie gals, am I right? I'm always all for strong females with ambition who do their own thing and the story behind Shareen couldn't be more familiar to yours truly...

R&Pop vocalist Shareen (also occasionally credited as Shareen Amour -- I get the Stevie Wonder reference, girl) grew up in a large family not far from NYC. A talented cookie, Shareen was a literal Artistic Jill of All Trades, studying ballet, violin and modern dance before finally coming to the conclusion that singing and performing was the passion she wanted to pursue for her life's work. She came to the Big City for college and spent a few years at Universal Records before putting the focus on Shareen, the artist, and forming her own label back in 2012 and hasn't looked back since.

The most recent fruit of that labor is Light, her stellar, dance-tingled EP that is available now for your perusal on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. My personal favorite is the opener, "Don't Let The Credits Roll", full of buzzy, relentless laser-synth that keeps your grooving on your seat. It's a nice complement to Shareen's vocal -- very smooth, soft and airy, think Mya circa "Free". Take a listen below... - Melismatic

"LIVE FROM NEW YORK: SHAREEN DEBUTS AT 'THE BITTER END'"

Back in February, I first mentioned NYC indie artist Shareen here on the blog on the back of her debut EP release, Light. While I've been a fan since then, Tuesday finally marked my first chance to see her do her thing live and it was well worth the wait.

Tuesday marked Shareen's first "headlining" showcase at a live venue in NYC -- at 'The Bitter End', a cabaret-style bar/nightclub in Greenwich Village (just a few blocks from SoHo). The famed venue is long and skinny and features light brick walls. A small stage is set up against the wall on one side with a smattering of tables across from it just north of the main bar. It holds just over 200 people and is well known to have been a stomping ground for emerging talent (both Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey played shows there very early in their careers) as well as a chosen place for established talent like Bob Dylan, Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye, Pete Seeger, Donny Hathaway and a ridiculously long list of others.

Shareen's staging included a keyboardist, two live backing singers, two backup dancers, and a backing track. She hit the stage in a black catsuit that had smatterings gold sequins and a burgundy bob haircut with blunt bangs, belting out my original fave from Light, "Don't Let The Credits Roll". I really loved the choreography for this one.

Midway through her set, she called up back to back two unexpected covers. First up was a balladized version of Mandy Moore's debut single "Candy", sultry and seductive and complete with Mandy's growled "Like sugar to my heart, baby" delivery. From 1999 to modern day, the second cover was of Justin Timberlake's "Take Back The Night" and it really got the crowd clapping. The inclusion of these two covers really spoke to my personality -- I knew Shareen and I were kindred hearts in our love for bubblegum pop!

She closed with her original cut "Live Again" before bouncing off stage to change into another outfit for her encore (proper popstar alert!). Her dancers took the stage in jersey tops and cut-off jean shorts, dancing it up to an instrumental cut of Janet Jackson's "Escapade". Shareen returned in similar jean cut-offs, accessorized with a black mesh top and black thigh-high stockings to the tune of her cut "Set The World On Fire (Remix)". She closed with her favorite of her original tunes (and my current favorite as well), "Escape", complete with chair choreography.

Overall, I was really excited and impressed by Shareen's performance. Vocally, she sounded really solid and her choice of covers both showed off her personality and added to her setlist in terms of crowd participation. It also should be noted she was rocking serious choreography alongside her dancers in serious heels and still sounded great. You can definitely keep her on your shortlist of Potential Popstars!

Liking what you hear? You can purchase her Light EP on iTunes now and follow her on Twitter via @ShareenAmour. My many, many thanks to Shareen herself and her manager Shean for the invite. I had a blast! - Melismatic

"Exclusive Premiere: New Shareen Single ‘Fire (Set This World)’"

Long Island-native Shareen is an emerging pop artist who is not about to be ignored. Not convinced? Well, she has our full attention today here on Electrocutie as we are thrilled to exclusively debut her brand new single to the world, right here, right now.

“Fire (Set This World)” is just about as hot as it sounds, with an infectious chorus, big thumping beats, and a powerful message about embracing your inner underdog and beating the odds. Just as vibrant as the artist herself, the track’s signature summer dance-pop sound is fiery, kinetic, and joyful, positioning Shareen alongside classic pop artists like Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul.

Hard work always pays off, and Shareen knows this, because “Fire (Set This World)” is about to pop in a big way. Take a listen below: - Electrocutie

"Listen to This: Shareen "Escape""

The dynamic dance pop of New York newcomer Shareen was brought to our attention last year with introduction coming via the vibrant effort of “Fire” (set this world).

At this point of return Shareen reconvenes and builds upon her initial debut tracks with the launch of her first EP “Light”.

Key to the signature sound and traits behind Shareen’s ideology of pop making, the “Light EP” is formulated with realism and relatable topics bound together by a feel good factor firmly anchored at its core.

Diversing through urban, funk, hip-hop and electronic strengths, the “Light EP” also carries with it mainstream pop sensibilities.

From the EP we gravitate towards a few words in regards to the upcoming single “Escape”.

Mid-tempo in it’s approach “Escape” flourishes into a progression of anthem pop power whilst looped with old skool beats. Moreover though, the charm of “Escape” is derived from the quirky outlook of delivering the tracks relatable message of the need for personal space from within a relationship.

Shareen say’s it as it is sometimes for all of us; To quote from the lyrics “I need an escape, cos you’re getting on my nerves today, somebody help me get away, tell your friends to come get you, cos I need a break from you today”.

I’ll admit that the message is really quite direct, but Shareen has the capabilities to turn it out cute and endearing.

"Listen to This: Shareen "Fire (Set This World)""

Pop newcomer Shareen sure knows how to make a vibrant entrance as she’s pouring out the playful grooves and jamming down the dance pop goodness with a peppy dynamic colourwash, in presenting her debut “Fire (Set This World)”.

Beneath the vivid exterior, NY Long Island native Shareen illuminates her own personal story through the lyrics, detailing her hopes, dreams and desires to cut her own ground on the pop map – an easily identifiable scenario and shared message of so many of us.

Shareen arrives at this point via graduating in fashion and training up as a dancer and musician, so yes her vision is clear from the offset and it is indeed zingy!

“Fire (Set This World)” serves as an impressive introduction, it embodies so much spirit whilst also providing a punch kick of identity and realism, setting itself apart from the typified slew of formulated dance readied pop ditties, in general.

Bright, fun and noticeable, Shareen is headed on her way to the dance floors with gusto! - EQ Music Blog UK
