Dark Side of the Dawn (with Rhett Miller)

Written By: Sharif

I gave myself permission to let my heart rewind
But I woke up with trouble on my mind
So I emptied out my pockets to find your diamond ring
I pawned it for a suitcase and some gin

So let's drink, shot down, let's burn this town
Living on the dark side of the dawn
Cause I'm young, and I'm wise, but I've lost my mind
Living on the dark side of the dawn

Now if I had a dollar for every lie you spoke
I'd be a millionaire and you'd be broke
But you're not selling secrets and I'm not buying lies
So I'll just drain these memories of mine

So let's drink, shot down, let's burn this town
Living on the dark side of the dawn
Cause I'm young, and I'm wise, but I've lost my mind
Living on the dark side of the dawn

Were you careful with my heart
When you cracked my ribs and tore it out?

So let's drink, shot down, let's burn this town
Living on the dark side of the dawn
Cause I'm young, and I'm wise, but I've lost my mind
Living on the dark side of the dawn

So let's drink, shot down, let's burn this town
Living on the dark side of the dawn
Cause I'm young, and I'm wise, and I've lost my mind
Living on the dark side
Living on the dark side
Living on the dark side of the dawn

Far From You

Written By: Sharif

I'm taking lessons from my life
My heart is empty but my arms are open wide
I'll find the love you never gave
I’m living out my life since you've taken yours away from me

I'm buying things I'll never need
They're not your kisses but they help me get to sleep
A brand new car, a new tattoo
I'll take a picture of my bed and I’ll send it to you

And I'm sorry, I've misspoken
I don't need you at all
And my heart is far better off
Far from you

I'm taking lessons from the best
I’m waking up with Lucky Charms and cigarettes
I’ll kill the sorrow that you grew
I'll take a picture of my bed and I’ll send it to you

And I'm sorry, I've misspoken
I don't need you at all
And my heart is far better off
Far from you

Now I'm running wild
You can’t even breathe
All the love you took
Only set me free

It's all over now…
It's all over now…
It's all over now…
It's all over now…

Another Wasted Rose

Written By: Sharif

Drove by your house
The lights are on
Two shadows cross
And my mind is gone

Your words left me cold
And my tears left me dry
And I guess you put me in my place
Another wasted rose for you

Sold my beliefs
Cause I’m a fake
You gave so much
But I wouldn’t take

And your words left me cold
And my tears left me dry
And I guess you put me in my place
Another wasted rose for you

Don’t burn my bridge
That’s all I need
I may be dead to you
But I still bleed

Well your words left me cold
And my tears left me dry
And I guess you put me in my place
Another wasted rose for you

I’m not sad, I’m not scared
I’m too empty now to care
And I guess you put me in my place
Another wasted rose for you
Another wasted rose for you
Another wasted rose for you

Worth The Fall

Written By: Sharif

I don’t know what to say
Seems the more I speak the more you want to walk away
But I’m not giving up, you’re not leaving yet
A part of you believes that I’m still worth the fight

Lights go out, bodies tremble
Thoughts of love gently crumble
All I took, all I gave, all I lost
But you’re worth the fall

Look in my eyes again
Tell me you won’t ever make them sad again
Cause I can’t take the fall without you by my side
You’ve always been the one to get me through these times

Lights go out, bodies tremble
Thoughts of love gently crumble
All I took, all I gave, all I lost
But you’re worth the fall

Rolling over I expect to see your face
What a cruel way to awake

Lights go out, bodies tremble
Thoughts of love gently crumble
Lights go out, bodies tremble
Thoughts of love gently crumble
All I took, all I gave, all I lost
But you’re worth the fall

I don’t know what to say…

By Your Side

Written By: Sharif

You're a flower covered in ice
With a passion deep in your eyes
I'm in trouble if I don't see you tonight
Call me up anytime
I'll be by your side

I was trying to enter your world
With a fire I couldn't control
But I'm feeling what I was feeling before
So call me up anytime
I'll be at your door

And I'm not going to live
‘Til I'm living in your arms
And everything that I wish
Will be coming true when you are mine

When I'm shaken and teeming with doubt
Want to tell you what I'm dreaming about
It’s the loving that only you can provide

Call me up anytime
I'll be by your side
Call me up anytime
I'll be by your side

I Won't Need Your Kisses Anymore

Written By: Sharif

I was down, I was blue, for a moment
‘Til I found someone new for me to adore
Younger than me and prettier than you
Now I won’t need your kisses anymore

She was carved out of sunlight, sprinkled in diamonds
Just a sight far too bright for me to ignore
Silent in time but echoing for miles
Now I won’t need your kisses anymore

Floating around in the world I'd come to know
Made me believe life was a mess
But feeling the warmth and the calmness of her heart
I was realigned cause I realized
That loving her made sense

I’d lost my direction when I found her
Now I have more control than ever before
The sky is still blue but I wont follow suit
Cause I won’t need your kisses anymore

No I don’t need your kisses anymore

Oceans of Trouble

Written By: Sharif

Do I lie about my life when I whisper in my mind?
A memory of doubt
Can I live without a face that a mind just can’t erase?
You’re all I think about

When you said I was the man that you needed for your hand
Your fingers were surely crossed
But I gave away my days to the promises you made
Now I’m sinking in the loss

When I have oceans of trouble
Will you sail out to me?
When I have oceans of trouble
Will your feet leave the sand
Or will you watch me drown?

Well I tried to find a way through the heartache and the blame
With alcohol and time
But the emptiness remains when the pain has passed away
Now all I do is cry

When I have oceans of trouble
Will you sail out to me?
When I have oceans of trouble
Will your feet leave the sand
Or will you watch me drown
