Sharkswimmer is a 4 piece indie/punk band with elements of shoegaze and early emo hailing from Brooklyn, New York. In September of 2017, frontman and Austin, TX native Justin Buschardt (Formerly of touring acts Inside Voices, UNTD SNKS) decided it was about time to dig some new songs out of hiding and turn them into something more than just a bedroom project.
Inspired by bands such as Culture Abuse, Sunny Day Real Estate, Dinosaur Jr., Brand New, Waxahatchee, Hot Snakes, Pity Sex, and Cloud Nothings (to name a few), their overall sound is always shifting and can be fairly hard to put your finger on. Within the short year of being a band they've played a ton of shows at some of New York's finest venues along with gaining the attention of new fans with their inclusive, earnest and energetic delivery. They released two singles that premiered on New Noise Magazine and are in the finishing stages of releasing their first EP, set to drop in late February.
Sharkswimmer consists of singer/guitarist Justin Buschardt, guitarist Danny de Juan, bassist Stephanie Buschardt, and drummer David Fine.
