Bio
Sharlene has played her songs in five states over the past 20 years. A graduate of the University of Colorado at Denver, Sharlene holds a Masters degree and is a freelance writer. Sharlene "sits in" frequently with a number of bands in Denver, demonstrating her talent and versatility as a vocalist and instrumentalist on styles including jazz, acoustic, blues, swing, and rock.
Sharlene performs original and cover music for a diverse audience for open mikes, small weddings and gatherings, to taverns, large parties, festivals, and conventions. Sharlene performs as a solo, duo, trio, or full band. Musicians who accompany Sharlene during her performances include music graduates and professionals from all over the West.
To complement her unique original acoustic styles, Sharlene draws upon diverse influences ranging from classic rock artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Pat Benatar, Heart, Missing Persons, Bonnie Raitt, Maria Muldaur, and Pretenders, to more contemporary artists such as Matchbox 20, Foo Fighters, Evanescence, Alanis Morrisette, Indigo Girls, and Sheryl Crow. In addition to her original tunes, Sharlene performs covers by artists such as Joni Mitchell, Ricki Lee Jones, Emmylou Harris, and Lucinda Williams.
