Sharon Schech & the Southern Stars

Our Lady of the Lake’s annual “Festival of the Lake” is this weekend in Old Mandeville. The festival will be held Friday, Oct. 19 and Saturday, Oct. 20. The event is free and open to the public.

Four Unplugged will play Friday evening from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Oscar Torres will kick off the music Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sharon Schech will play from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by Christian Serpas from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The 610 Stompers will perform starting at 8:00 p.m. Cowboy Mouth will then conclude the festivities and play following the 610 Stompers.

A large variety of food and drinks will be available to purchase. There will also be many vendor booths selling items such as jewelry, clothing, art and more. Games will be available for all ages.

May is our month to howl - start off with the Petwalk and a few weeks later enjoy great music and fun to support our Dog Shelter renovations.
This is a music festival fundraiser including local artists, businesses, and an adopt-a-thon for our shelter and other local rescues. We have four awesome bands lined up:

A portion of the proceeds also will be donated to the Knights of Columbus Christmas Shopping Spree for underprivileged children.
Other musical acts playing at the festival that celebrates food, fun and music include New Orleans Rhythm & Blues Company playing Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m., followed by Four Unplugged performing from 8-11 p.m. On Saturday, Sharon Schech takes the stage from 12:30-3 p.m., followed by Austin Sicard & The Medics playing from 4-7 p.m. and headliner Marcia Ball taking control of the stage from 8-11 p.m. The lineup for Oct. 17 will feature Boogie Falaya performing from 12:30-3 p.m., with Christian Serpas & Ghosttown closing out the festival from 4-7 p.m. - Margaret Schonberg - 10/08/2010
