Bio
Just like many genres of music, jazz is a very general term. Within jazz, there are so many sub-genres: bop, smooth, cool, latin, etc. At Central Michigan University, it seemed as though most jazz combos were sticking to straight-ahead jazz; there was never a fusion combo. There was an immediate interest from drummer Kevin Stobbe to start one. After talks with different instrumentalists, Sharp Dressed Men was born.
Comprised of two keyboardists, Billy D. Scott and Ted Clous, bassist Jack Smith, guitarist Yoshi Fukagawa, guitarist and trumpeter Haruki Hakoyama, and drummer Kevin Stobbe, Sharp Dressed Men encompasses a wide range of musical tastes. A mix of rock and roll, latin jazz, and funk, Sharp Dressed Men will get your toes tapping.
