Shaun Mykal Walker

It’s been the 15-year accumulation of writing and performance that led to my development as a solo artist. It has mutated my songs and created the sound I have today, Alternative Soul.

My first band Aurous was nominated at the Inland Empire Music Awards for "Best Live Show" and "Best Indie CD" www.purevolume.com/aurous. Cinder Red was my second voyage where I explored the grit and gravel in my pipes store.cdbaby.com/cd/cinderred. I was lucky enough to win “Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands” Los Angeles Warped Tour with Walk the Rio, my third band www.reverbnation.com/walktherio. I was also in a duo electronic experiment called Circuit Assassins soundcloud.com/circuitassassins/sets/circuit-assassins/.

This brings me to where I am today. I’ve taken my learnings as a vocalist, guitarist, bassist, pianist, engineer and producer to create my own sound. My first solo debut “Apex to Abyss” tells the 4-song story of a 3-year Australian stint of struggle and triumph. I invite you to interpret it as you see fit.

Since "Apex to Abyss" I've released multiple singles and will continue to do so. As is legacy, my sound will continue to change. While musicians love praise, I write for myself: the songs I want to hear, the ones that calm my mind, the ones that tell a story. Whether I have an audience of 1 or 1 million, I will continue this journey.
