From That ROWDY ROWDY ESSEX COUNTY... SHAUN P, The Pretty Boy Himself! Straight out of Orange New Jersey aka Citrus Hill, comes the young fly guy Shaun P. He has deep gospel roots from growing up in the church, where he also learned the piano and the organ. His mother, Evangelist Darla L. Purefoy, is the Pastor of "According to His Purpose" ministries in Broadnax, VA and she saw the gift of song within him at a young age and enrolled him at the Newark Boys Chorus School, where he learned to read music, went on performance tours, and even got a chance to travel around the world. Shaun is an up and comming artist and although his experience sheet isn't long, he has star-like quality and a passion for performing. He's perfromed in front of Tye Tribbett, Whitney Houston, Carl Thomas, Michael Bivens, Joe, Ron Grant and a host of college crowds and local talent. He is a dedicated artist who took things into his own hands and wrote, produced, and recorded his own album because "people were moving too slow" for him. The album which is entitled MaC's World, is in the process of being remade and should be available soon. Shaun is also a great songwriter and producer. He graduated from Rider University with a BA in Communications, where he learned how to use production software and digitial recording equipment. Outside of music, Shaun is a normal guy with and obsession for footware (jordans mostly) and graphic t-shirts. He's a movie buff and loves comedy.
Some of his many influences include musical geniuses like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Prince, Jay-Z, Marvin Gaye, Duke Ellington, The Beatles, R. Kelly, Musiq Soulchild, Kirk Franklin, Jay Moss and many others. These artists, among others, have helped him to develope his own style and swag. He always says that he's the "only R&B dude with a rapper's swag" because he carries himself with tons of confidence and knows how to rock the stage.
One thing that you should know about a Shaun P show is that you will be 100 percent satisfied and would want to see him again and again.
