Bio
Shauntrice Joy Butler is an anointed, inspirational singer and songwriter. Her singing, which ranges from powerful to gentle, will captivate, soothe and take you on a journey that you will never want to end.
As an infant, she was miraculously healed by the Lord Jesus Christ of chronic bronchitis. Her parents discovered she could sing at the tender age of eight. Since then, she received classical and jazz vocal training at the Sherwood Conservatory of Music and at Roosevelt University. She has sung with two high school choirs and a gospel youth choir called “Joyful Noise”, which allowed her the opportunity to be a featured singer on the Jenny Jones Show. Shauntrice has ministered at many places such as Covenant Café, The Revealed Word Ministries Evangelistic Services and Father’s Day Brunch, The Sunset Aids Hospice, The Retreat Nursing Home, The Living Word Evangelistic Church, The Vicksburg Benevolent Associates Awards Ceremony, The Chicago State Seniors Thanksgiving Awards Ceremony, Morgan Park High School Graduation Ceremony, and Durkin Park Elementary School Graduation Ceremony. She also enjoyed singing as a background vocalist on various artists CD projects.
Working under her father, Marcus Butler Sr., a prolific and profound songwriter/producer, she has blossomed into a prophetic and profound songwriter in her own right. Some of her songs include “Struggling”, “It’s About to Happen”, “Will You Die for me?” and “You are the One”. She believes that every song should have a true message. While she has written praise and worship songs, she has also written songs that leave her “bare”, letting the world know about her struggles, fears, secret prayers, and the prophetic words that God has given her for her life.
Her ability to sing and compose different genres of music and her willingness to write about real issues, allow her to reach people of various races, economic backgrounds, and ages. She believes that through her songs, peoples’ lives will be touched, wounds will be healed and minds will be changed, forever. “I am a humble vessel ready and willing to be used by God”.
