Feeling a bit camera shy

A fourth generation southeast Texan, Shaun Tynan's music is a tasty gumbo of Americana, Blues and soulful folk. Tynan's craftsman's approach to songwriting has been inspired by a childhood spent on local bays and bayous and a lifetime pursuing adventure and creativity.

Leaving southeast Texas after high school, Tynan's search for adventure started with his acceptance of a basketball scholarship to the University of Alaska at Anchorage. While in Alaska he developed a musical following playing local clubs and parties. Artic Records (yes there was such a thing) recognized Tynan's unique vocal style and teamed him with a group of studio musicians for a tour of some of Alaska's most "colorful" watering holes. Bars in Alaska were open from 7 a.m. to 5 a.m. (they needed 2 hours to sweep out the patrons). Some say the "bar room scene" from the movie Star Wars was inspired by characters from those Alaskan bars.

After a knee injury sidelined him from the UA basketball team, too much time on his hands and too much snow on the ground pushed Shaun back south to Nacogdoches, Texas, where he formed the group Everybody's Baby with long-time sideman and session keyboard player from Richmond, VA, Sonny Baharloo. Shaun Tynan and Everybody's Baby released "Pocket Full of Good Intentions" on Trakall Records in 1998.

Legendary Texas Singer/Songwriter Steven Fromholz included "A Candle Burns (In The Window Of My Heart)" written by Shaun Tynan (Davis) on his 1986 album "LoveSongs" and on the 2003 Felicity Records release of "Cow Jazz".

Tynan now resides in Groves, Texas, and continues to write and perform.
