With a voice as soulful as Tracy Chapman's and as dovelike as Joni Mitchell's, Shawn James does the singer-guitarist thing as captivatingly as most of those Lilith Fair lasses.
James possesses plenty of subtle secret weapons that give her music a refreshing earthiness: some lightly funky licks in her guitar playing, a bit of frank eroticism in her lyrics, and an undercurrent of sultriness in her voice that makes her more sexy than those two previously mentioned folk goddesses.

Let's face the facts. Some times the best songwriters are not the best performers, or the best performers are not the best songwriters. But whenever Shawn sings her songs, it's hard to imagine a better combination of performer and songwriter. This is the forth time this reviewer has become enraptured in with her poignant "Give Me Back My Heart" and the sensuously suggestive "Dance Around".
This very cool young lady loves to sing, and play her mellow vintage acoustic Martin Guitar.
James Amber adds tremendous depth of soul with his amazing bass and guitar playing. His smooth style and breath taking scales are enough to keep you in awe. They also performed some of J ames original instrumental compositions, which were filled with phenomenal, emotional guitar riffs.
This Duo is well on their way to capturing people's hearts with their magnificent chemistry and song writing.
