The best kept secret in music

"Galloping Gossip"

"Shawn Lentz is another powerful player, a self-exile from the Seattle metal scene, whom the Gossip Girl got to hear at a recent Hopvine Pub Showcase. Powerful, gritty, dark songs and lyrics, but what a nice guy inbetween!"
-Deb Seymour, Victory Review Acoustic Music Magazine - Victory Review Acoustic Music Magazine

" Review of "Convergence""

"This guy writes great songs and has a powerful, emotional voice. The force of his vocals and guitar playing would be enough to blow away the first 3 rows of fans at a live show. The guitar is not the usual folkie, rolling sound I'm used to hearing from singer/songwriters. This one has a deep rich sound, like it wants to be an electric guitar when it grows up."
-Jennifer Layton, -

"Rainy Dawg In-Studio Interview & Performance"

"Unorthodox technique at times and percussive. Shawn continues to squeeze out unique and interesting sounds from his guitar."
-Rainy Dawg Radio - ASUW (University of Washington) - Rainy Dawg Radio - University of Washington

"KMUN In-studio Interview & Performance"

"Great voice with a large range! A lovely and delightful singer-songwriter!"
- Carol Newman, KMUN 91.9 FM - KMUN 91.9 FM

"Indieville Review of "Convergence""

" . . . he has put a lot of heart into this disc . . . one can see what Shawn is truly capable of; 'Remembering' for example, is a dark piece that successfully combines elements of both metal and acoustic rock. [Convergence] definitely shows potential for Lent'z future."
- Matt Shimmer, Indieville - Indieville

"Mid-set props from local Punk-rockers Jaded 52"

"You can tell Shawn actually knows how to play guitar. (Contorting hand) How the f*** do you make your hand do this!?"
- Ryan, Guitarist for Jaded 52 - Jaded 52

Feeling a bit camera shy

Equal parts ecological conservationist and proud DIY artist, Shawn Lentz refuses to fit into a mold of the typified singer-songwriter. Call it coffee-shop rock or socio-political-enviro pop, but since releasing CONVERGENCE in 2001 "the acoustic pop super-villain's" writing has graduated into sometimes complex, sometimes simple and lush arrangements, with a fiercely, percussive guitar style that has proved to appeal to neo-folk and harder rocking audiences alike.

Look for the new EP, PIECES in the next few months. PIECES is a limited release that features 2 full-band tracks and 3 kick-ass, stripped down solo acoustic tracks; 2 of which will appear on the upcoming full-length CD with full instrumentation. Shawn is currently working with producer, Paul Speer (Vicci Martinez, Roger Fisher, Queensryche), at Rainstorm Studios on the new 11 song disc.
