Shawtee RE (1st Lady Of Da Game)

Driven by the death of her mother in 2006, Shawtee RE made a promise to her best friend, on her deathbed, that she would make her proud and follow her dream. Through these challenges and contrasts, Shawtee RE, the "1st Lady of Da Game" a.k.a. Madam Swagg, was born. Originally from Montreal, Shawtee moved to Calgary at the age of 14 and soon began to follow her love for music. Growing up with rappers, producers and hustlers, she soon realized what she did and did not want from life. Shawtee began writing lyrics on anything she could find but soon, her hunger for knowledge grew. She paid her way through college in order to gain her certificate in Digital Sound and Music Production in addition to taking many marketing courses. Her love for anything to do with music continued to develop. At the age of 17, she started working with well-known dance instructors from around the world as well as, many successful vocal coaches to develop her voice and later was taught how to play piano and compose music. Shawtee RE mixes her street knowledge with over a decade of experience rapping/singing in order to document her day-to-day life as the "1st Lady of Da Game". Her influences include Tupac, Lil Wayne, Juelz Santana and Whitney Houston to name a few. Shawtee is dedicated to prove that any woman can use her talents to be beautiful, powerful, independent, whatever her story maybe. Shawtee's first performance was in March 2008, at the French Maid in Calgary, in front of 400 people. That day, she met God$truck Gotti (now signed to DPG) and later became a member of Skyline Entertainment. In July 2008, she released her first promo CD titled "1st Lady". Together with Skyline, she preformed at such places as, Mile 1 Urban Tavern, Steven Ave and even hosted the 2008 Juno After with Russell Peters. In July 2008, Shawtee started her own record label/entertainment and promotions company called 1st Lady Entertainment Inc.. Since then, Shawtee has been going strong, opening for the multimillion dollar Hip Hop artist Flo-Rida, as well, recording her 1st mixtape titled "Diary Of a G Vol1: Bankview 403" and her much anticipated album to come spring/summer 2009. Shawtee RE is currently working with many well-known artists, preparing for upcoming performances and living up to her name as the "1st Lady of Da Game". At the end of 2009, Shawtee RE plans on moving to the United States with the goal of furthering her career as the best female rapper/singer/producer and to grow her record label/ entertainment and promotions company into the largest and most successful company the industry has even seen...
