SHAYMLYSS: Bold, forward, immodest, flagrant and unashamed. These traits are exactly what Shaymlyss, (a.k.a. Dave Meads), brings to the table. The name says it all says this Canadian emcee/producer. Listening to a wide variety of music has helped him become creatively versatile. The drive and strength behind him are his family unit. He has worked through the years with such artists as Fortunato, Conscience Thought, Illogical and others. Attaining a degree (Recording Arts and Sciences) at the Trebas Institute has given him the tools to prepare for the music industry. Maybe the music industry has to prepare itself for him! He has been at it since the age of seventeen and now feels ready to take on the world, one syllable and bar at a time. Lyrically and production wise, he does himself justice as he’s been writing his own lyrics, and becoming a studio rat to perfect his craft. The keys in the mind of Shaymlyss towards being sucessful are being patient and taking initiative to make a name in the industry. Constantly writing and networking take a lot of time from him these days, but “you only get out what you put in”, quotes this rapper. This is not only a venture but a vital part of him that runs through his veins. “Being an artist or producer is much like being a pro athlete, you need to train everyday, sacrifice your personal time, friends and family sometimes in order to reach one’s desired goals. This emcee is hungry and willing to put in the effort in order for things to go the way he wants them to. The future holds a lot of promise for Shaymlyss. He has aspirations of owning a studio and label. Currently he is in the works on his solo Ep.
