Bio
Born in Arizona and raised overseas and stateside by her rather large military family, ShayMoShan found herself surrounded by music from everywhere since childhood. Prince, Shalimar, Marvin Gaye, Maze feat. Frankie Beverly, Mc Fadden and Whitehead, The Ohio Players, Teddy Pendergrass, some Michael Franks or Steely Dan, and Earth, Wind and Fire. All this colorful music has painted her background vividly.
Since moving to Los Angeles to pursue an entertainment career, ShayMo's musical collaborations have included doing backup vocal work with Ty Stone from Detroit, Julie Gribble of LA and Sofia Sunseri and the Sextet in LA.
Through many teachers, producers, DJs, mentors and game-players, she was ready to step out in front and take controlof her voice. ShayMoShan was lucky enough to meet DJ iLL Media (The Most Chill Slackmob) and began working with him on her debut EP entitled, "Forthcoming EP", to be released Winter 2006. A mixture of Electronica beats with a few hot House grooves and spun into a sexy a Miami thump woven all throughout with ShayMoShan's sultry vocals, "Forthcoming EP" proves to be the very next breath in today's sound in progressive Pop and R&B.
ShayMoShan can also be found on a benefit cd for Americans For Safe Access entitled Various Artists: Vapor Lounge Vol. 1, released in July 2006. It contains a remix of "Wanna Play: The Vapor Lounge Remix?" which was done exclusively for the benefit CD and can also be found onthe debut EP.
Her varied musical tastes and struggle for artistic independence has been the soundtrack to her life so far. Be riveted by ShayMoShan's story as it continues to unfold. Thanks for listening.
