Shays' Rebellion

Shays' Rebellion

Shays' Rebellion is an upbeat rock and roll band aspiring to create quality music, have a good time, and create good times for the fans. The mixing of blues, funk, and rock creates the potent cocktail to keep your toes tapping and enhance that high spirit so easily found at a Shays Rebellion venue.

Simply put, Shays' Rebellion has been taking advantage of a whirlwind of opportunity. Officially formed in March of 2006 the band started out as many bands do, playing covers and just fooling around. It didn't take long however for the unique creative powers of individual band members to shine through and gel into what has become the signature Shays' Rebellion sound.

With a blend of influences from the likes of the Beastie Boys, Pearl Jam, The Allman Brothers Band, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Crowes, the decision focus on original material and turn cover songs into a novelty was swift.

Building on the opportunity to share the stage with such rising stars as Girls Guns & Glory, Forgetful Jones, Three Day Threshold, Kalvin Koolidge, and The Colt Thompson Project the band quickly got the word out that Shays' Rebellion was no joke.

Putting in countless hours writing new material, promoting shows, burning demo CD's and using the vast array of technological tools to grab fans at every opportunity, all while tightening the act and expanding the sound, Shays' Rebellion has managed to quickly become a legitimate contender on the Boston music scene and beyond.

Debut album Conkey's Tavern just released November 9th, 2007!
